College, Scholarships and Financial Aid questions answered

Our secondary counselors deserve kudos for another great College Night event. On October 3 approximately 1,500 students and parents filled the Odessa College Sports Center to visit with representatives from 50 or so schools.

Community colleges, universities, military academies, and trade & technical schools are all in attendance at College Night. You'll find a lot more pictures from this event on our

Record Breaking Enrollment
ECISD reaches 30,766 Students

Report cards for the second six weeks went home last week. It is hard to believe we are already one-third of the way through the school year!

A few facts and figures to consider as we move forward in this history-making year - our total enrollment as of the start of this week was 30,766; we have closed nine schools; we posted 26 openings for teachers' aides; we continue to try to recruit Highly Qualified teachers ; we have increased pay for all substitutes; and we have ordered and placed 14 portables to help ease the lack of classroom space.
These record enrollment numbers for ECISD - as with our community's population as whole - are beyond what was forecast for our area. It is no surprise resources throughout Ector County and the Permian Basin are stressed and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these issues.

Moo Day!

Sassy cow made from 250 recycled milk cartons

The premise is simple - students and their families (parental involvement) can use their imaginations to create something spectacular out of a carton, jug, chug, or any other container that once held milk. Entries come from across the District!
