PRRAC Update

January 16, 2013

Congratulations to HUD on a successful "Moving to Higher Opportunity Summit" outside Philadelphia last week.  The conference, designed in part to showcase the launch of the new Delaware Valley Regional Mobility Initiative, drew about 350 state and local government staff, housing advocates, and elected officials, from Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and all over.  PRRAC and Building One Pennsylvania both played a big role assisting the HUD Region 3 office in planning the conference, which emphasized the role of housing mobility in "affirmatively furthering fair housing."  (photos from the conference are posted here; more content coming soon).

In the new Poverty & Race:  "Autonomy, Mobility, and Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing in Gentrifying Neighborhoods," by Rachel Godsil (January 2014) - plus articles on regional transportation equity, a 2013 U.S. human rights review, and an excerpt from New York State Attorney General's new report on the NYC "stop and frisk" law - read the full issue here.
