Join Us for First Thursday, June 6
Artists of the Falcon will be showing at three different locations this upcoming First Thursday. They're within a few blocks of each other, so you should be able to take it all in with just a little planning. Details on each show follow.
"Flight" at P:ear Gallery -  338 NW 6th Ave.

The Falcon Art Community is proud to partner with p:ear this June and July. Several of our artists will bring their creativity, innovation and enthusiasm into p:ear for a series of media and interactive workshops with youth.  The resulting show will feature music and art by p:ear youth born of this process, as well as showcasing work by Falcon artists dealing with themes of flight as both journey and goal. Read more about p:ear.
Natalie Sept & Israel Bayer "Dishwasher Series"  -
The Cleaners at the Ace Hotel, 403 SW 10th Ave.
In a series honoring the individuals doing grueling, behind-the-scenes work in some of Portland's finest restaurants, Falcon painter Natalie Sept teams up with Israel Bayer of Street Roots, creating a collection of large portraits, interviews, and photographs. This show is for one night only, but you can also see many of the portraits right now at Radio Room on NE 8th & Alberta.  Read more about the Dishwasher Project.
Kelly McCarty  -
Gerding Theater at the Armory, 128 NW 11th Ave.
Kelly McCarty shows a collection of his abstract works created using a cold encaustic process in conjunction with the opening of Portland Center  Stage's "Somewhere in Time".
The works are a result of
meticulous layering and study
of color, achieving a depth and texture that urge the viewer to explore and contemplate.
