Behind Every Stitch, There is a Story!
A quilt simply may be two layers of fabric sewed together, but so often it provides much more than warmth. Quilts connect the past with the present and the future. They often symbolize the biggest moments of our lives, like births and weddings, but also the smaller moments in our lives- bits and pieces, joy and sorrow, stitched with love.

Check our selection of quilting books on display this month.

Do you have a special quilt passed down through your family? What does it mean to you?

Please pardon our appearance! We're in the midst of a few improvements to the Archives Room and the computer area. In the end, we hope you will enjoy an updated and more comfortable space. Please let us know what you think!
Civil War Quilts
Tuesday, January 28 @ 7PM

Presenter Pam Weeks is the curator of the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, MA.  She is a quilt historian and her first book, Civil War Quilts, was released in 2012.  This PowerPoint lecture will feature quilts of the Civil War period and Pam will also bring several quilts from the era, and reproduction quilts.
As part of the evening, please also visit the Souhegan Valley Quilters Guild exhibit at the Library during this time.   Sign up now!
kNOw THEM: Forbidden Faces and Places
Tuesday, February 4 @ 7PM

Presenter Dick Simon's photographs portray the untold human stories behind the headlines in regions of conflict around the world.
Reserve your seat!
Sharing his experiences, Simon bridges the gap between 'us' and 'them'.  The word THEM has the destructive power to enslave entire continents, wage wars, and slaughter in genocides.  This talk and images will inspire you to get past THEM and recognize that the 'other' has their own narrative, history, and perspective.
