A Little Bit of Everything
Come in now to see an art exhibit featuring Martha Bosco's oil and pastel paintings. Martha is no stranger to the library as she worked here for nearly twenty seven years.  She also has been a long time resident of Amherst.  Many of the paintings Martha will be showing are landscapes and architectural landscapes with a few other subjects.

The show will run from the beginning of December to the middle of January.  There will be an Artist Reception on December 15th, from 2-4pm, where you can meet and chat with Martha while viewing her exhibit on the main floor of the Amherst Town Library.
Short on Time?

It's a bust time of year! A short story may be just what you need. We've featured a selection on our display table during the month of December. During the rest of the year, just look for the red and white stickers on the spines, or browse some of the "best of" collections in the 800's.
Fax Service Update

Beginning on Monday, December 16, 2013, our fax service provider will be increasing the first page domestic fax rate from $1.50 to $1.75. Each additional page will remain at the $1.00 rate. This domestic rate covers all of the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. On the other hand, the first page international rate will decrease from $4.95 to $3.95.

Along with the rate change, the service is rolling out several new improvements. There is a new website (www.myfaxscan.com) that you can view to check the status of your fax and resend it, if necessary, or forward it to an email address. You will also have the option to fax a document, created on the library computer, directly from that computer.
From the Children's Room...

Holiday Stories and Songs with Miss Sue and Miss Sarah
On Tuesday, December 17, at 3:30, we are offering a special storytime celebrating the holiday season. Come and join Miss Sue and Miss Sarah for some stories, some songs, and a simple craft.

 Make-it/Take-it Craft
Come to the Children's Room any time during the week of December 16-22 and create a Reindeer Headband craft.

Christmas Vacation Activities
Make sure to visit the library during the holiday break---there will be a Make-it/Take-it craft available during the week after Christmas, and there will be a movie matinee at 2pm on Thursday, January 2.  Bring a pillow and a water bottle, and we'll provide the popcorn!  For more information, contact the Children's Room at 673-2288 or  [email protected].
Remember, the library is a happening place and your library card is your ticket to free books, magazines, music, movies, Internet access, enriching programs and much more!

Sincerely,
