Meet Julia Child: The Beloved French Chef
Tuesday October 1 @ 7PM

nullMeet Julia Child! is a live performance featuring 'Julia Child' doing what she does best.  The audience will learn about her life--from privileged childhood in California when she had no interest in food, except for eating what the family's private chef prepared--to becoming one of the culinary legends of all time.  And, the audience will have the opportunity to view 'Julia' on the set of The French Chef, an amusing and fun experience.  After the performance, the cast will open up for discussion regarding Julia Child.  The Delvena Theatre Company has been entertaining audiences for over twenty years with plays that are thought-provoking, often humorous, and always enriching. Register here.

Make a Milk-Jug Skeleton
Wednesday September 25, 2013 at 6:30 PM

Let's get to work on our Halloween decorations!  We'll create our skeletons together, with Miss Sarah reading stories to the kids while the parents work on the parts that require grown-up skills.  We really enjoyed this project last year--it took some work, but the results were SO CUTE that it was worth it.  Each family needs to bring 5 or 6 clean, dry, de-labeled milk jugs (make sure that at least 2 of them still have lids).  All other supplies will be provided.

For kids ages 5 and up with a parent.

Registration is required--please register child and adult in the same line.

Karate Demonstration in the Library
Saturday September 28, 2013 at 2PM

Come and watch members of the Neil Stone Karate Academy in Brookline as they demonstrate some cool karate moves based on the Five Ancestors book series. They'll be getting the audience up for some karate-based exercise, too! Space is limited, so please register online. For kids ages 5 and up.
Registration is required.
Remember, the library is a happening place and your library card is your ticket to free books, magazines, music, movies, Internet access, enriching programs and much more!

Sincerely,
