Student Artists Receive Awards
|
Congratulations to all the young exhibiting artists from Amherst and Mont Vernon schools whose artwork adorn the Amherst Town Library's walls, halls, display cases and bookcases during the 20th Annual Student Art Show. Over the past 20 years the Student Art Show has showcased and shared the talents of our youth with the community. It has become a long--standing tradition enjoyed by all. And over the years the Student Art Show has grown and undergone changes along the way. Among this year's changes was inviting Mont Vernon Village School to be a part of the art show and adding a juried award system in addition to the participation award ribbons. iPads and Kindles and Nooks, Oh My!
Do you have a mobile device? Maybe someone gave you an iPod for your birthday but you haven't figured out how to use it yet. Maybe you have a smartphone but only use it for email. Or maybe you already know how to use your tablet but want to do more with it.
You can go searching on the internet for help, but having to sift through sites can quickly become overwhelming and time consuming. Books are often well organized with step by step directions and pictures, and borrowing from the library is a great alternative to buying one.
We have "missing manual" books on the iPad/iPhone/iPod, Kindle, Nook, and Droid. There are books on the best Android and iPhone apps, and using your iPad for work or projects. For the more advanced, there's a guide to iPhone, iPad, and iPod repair. Want something we don't have? Put a request in with a staff member and we'll be happy to get it for you. Or schedule an appointment with one of our reference staff for an introductory tutorial.
What?! You don't have a mobile device! You can also borrow one of our eReaders or tablets, take it home, and see which one works for you. Once you figure out how to use your device, the possibilities are endless...including borrowing eBooks and downloadable audiobooks from the library!
