Greetings!

March brings a new series of programs for adults at the Amherst Town Library called Looking at the World: Connections and Differences.
Geography of Pakistan and Afghanistan
Thursday, March 7 @ 7 PM

America is engaged with nations all around the world through trade, travel, politics, and more. The war in Afghanistan is America's longest war, one which we continue to fight, yet the majority of Americans know very little about this landlocked country, with most unable to locate it on a map. Not only are we intensively engaged with Afghanistan, but with neighboring Pakistan as well. Join Dr. Stephen Young from the Department of Geography at Salem State University as he provides a geographic background to the region to help us better understand the complexity of involvement there.

This presentation is free and open to the public. However, registration is REQUIRED for this program due to space limitations.

Blu-ray movies are here to stay!

Do you have a Blu-ray player? Next time you're in the library, make sure to take a look at our Blu-ray collection.

blu rayPreviously, we had a few Blu-ray discs circulating with DVD's. However, in the past several months we've had an increase in requests for Blu-ray's, and decided it was time to separate them. A couple people generously donated some Blu-ray discs that more than doubled what we had. If you don't have a Blu-ray player, have no fear. Our primary focus will continue to be DVD's, but many come in double packs with Blu-ray's, such as Hotel Transylvania, Flight, Argo, and Wreck-it Ralph. Let us know what you think!

Catalog tip: Look at the icon on the right to see if it says DVD or BLU to place your hold on the correct item.
