Altar Railings Installed
Railings Commemorate Rev. Timberlake
Kenyon Maintenance has installed the brass portion of the donated rails leading to the altar. The $10,000 gift for the rails was received in the spring of 2014 from the Timberlake family to commemorate the service of Rev. George Phillip Timberlake to Kenyon College and Harcourt Parish.

Rev. Timberlake graduated from Kenyon in 1948, received the M. Div. from Bexley Hall in 1950, and served as rector of Harcourt Parish and assistant chaplain to Kenyon College from 1947 to 1950.

Architect William Samstag, K'79, designed the rails that were fabricated in a foundry in Ashland, Ohio. Jack Esslinger has been commissioned to craft the wooden cap rail to complete the project in the near future. A temporary cap is in place in the meantime.
Parish House Work Accomplished
Many Projects Completed
Thanks to all who gave of their time and talents in the care and feeding of the Parish House:
*Alex McCullough and his grandson Austin, replaced the rotted rail for the ramp. Alex has worked steadily to repaint trim in the foyer and Canterbury Room and installed flex hoses to downspouts.
*Juan, Daniel, and Jonathan Pastor reset the landscape edging.
*Perry Lentz inventoried the contents of the book shelves. *Peggy Turgeon, Estelle Parker, and Jan Hendrickx, led by Toma Lord, weeded and sprayed the garden beds and tamed the boxwood hedge.
*Brian Pragacz cleaned the dryer vent.
*A contractor will power wash, prep, and paint the porch, ramp rails, and stairs beginning the first week in September.

A few projects remain. If you'd like to help keep the Parish House in good working order, please contact Susan Givens.
Choir
Rehearsal Begins Aug. 30
Are you interested in participating in Harcourt's choir? Rehearsals begin Sunday, Aug. 30, at 9 a.m. Please contact our music director, Sharon Stohrer, if you'd like to join.

We are fortunate to have student participation again this year. We welcome back Josh Yuen-Schat, Clara Yetter, and Sarah Schumacher as section leaders. (Morgan will arrive in January.)

We also welcome new leaders: soprano Sam Roschewsk, alto Brea Fearon, and tenor Billy Weber.
Interchurch
Fresh Produce to Those in Need
If you would like to help take fresh produce donated at the Saturday farmers' market to Interchurch for families in need, or would like to help gleaning fields this fall, please contact Interchurch Director Joy Harris.

If gardening is not your skill, Interchurch also need volunteers for the FISH program--drivers who take Interchurch clients to out-of-county medical appointments. Interchurch can also use help with their Clothes-n-Counters Thrift Shop. Contact Joy for more information.
Mass on the Grass
Eucharist Outside
For one more Sunday, Aug. 23, we will worship on the lawn.
