*Learned that a number of promising candidates have applied to become the new priest-in- charge of Harcourt Parish and Episcopal chaplain to Kenyon College

*Agreed to be available in September to meet candidates chosen by the Search Committee for on-campus visits  

*Planned selection of Nominating Committee and schedule for vestry elections; probably 2 adults and 2 students needed  

*Decided to have a Welcome-Back Picnic for Kenyon students on September 6

New Presiding Bishop
Bishop Michael Curry 

Bishop Michael Curry of North Carolina was elected Presiding Bishop at the 78th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, the top legislative body of the church. Bishop Curry garnered 121 of the 174 votes. Bishop Curry is the first African American presiding bishop for the denomination. Bishop Curry will succeed Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, who will complete her nine-year term on Nov. 1.

Nonperishable food and monetary donations will be accepted Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Village Market.
Search Committee
Update
The Harcourt-Kenyon Search Committee has welcomed three new members: Meredith Harper Bonham, KC '92, Vice President of Student Affairs; Marc W. Bragin, Jewish Chaplain and Director of Kenyon College Hillel; and Royal W. F. Rhodes, Donald L. Rogan Professor of Religious Studies.

On June 15, the Committee began to review applications for the joint position of College Chaplain and Priest-in-charge of Harcourt Parish. We are working to identify a smaller group of candidates whose expertise and experience appear to be most closely related to our needs. Once we have done so, we will conduct phone interviews with the selected candidates.
Parish House Care and Feeding
Volunteer 
Dedicated volunteers have given the Parish House some TLC. There still are tasks available, if you have some free time. If you are willing to take on a project, please contact Susan Givens. Thanks for anything you can do!

Remember your sunscreen and lawn chairs (we have extras) for Eucharist alfresco. If Middle Path construction creates accessibility issues, follow the posted signs to the temporary path.
