Supply Priests
A New Season
As we move into the season of Lent, we will host a series of supply priests for Sunday and Wednesday services. The Rev. David Kendell-Sperry of St. Paul's Mount Vernon has graciously offered to provide pastoral care.
Thank you to Sister Carin Delfs for serving as interim priest over the past few months.
Search Committee
Update by Adam Serfass
In January, the Vestry issued a call for nominations to serve on Harcourt Parish's search committee for a new rector. In response, we received no fewer than seventeen nominations. While we were delighted by this outpouring of interest, we knew that a committee of seventeen would be too large. We aimed for a balanced committee, that is, one balanced between younger and older, men and women, longtime members and newcomers, and other demographics. Earlier this month, the Vestry formally approved the following slate of candidates for the committee: Robert Bennett, Buffy Hallinan, Peg Heasley, Jennifer Johnson, Perry Lentz, Alan Parker, Brian Pragacz, and Adam Serfass (Chair). We thank all those who nominated themselves or others to serve, and will continue to ask for your feedback about what we are looking for in our new leader.
Chapel Improvements
A Note from the Junior Warden

Parishioners began the process of improving the ambiance of the Chapel basement in the fall by purging damaged or no-longer-useful equipment/supplies and cleaning office furniture. College Maintenance crews have worked diligently to improve mechanicals and, most significant, renovated the bathroom. Thanks to Ward Stover, College painter, the bathroom floor has been tiled, the walls painted and tiled, and a new sink and cabinet installed. Ward lovingly cobbled together tile bits from College storage and wallpaper from his own home to transform the space that requires no apology! Ward has also repainted chipped and peeling paint in the hallways, staircases, foyers, and floors in both the Bedell Room and Nursery.

The Undercroft has been rearranged to reflect the changes in programming since Sunday School is no longer offered. Maintenance once again came to assist by removing, cleaning, and drying the south oriental rug that had been soaked by the significant leaks during fall storms. Through Fred Linger, who has funds earmarked for special projects, new table lamps were purchased to replace the missing ones.

The Bedell Room was severely soaked during the rains. All of the bookshelves were damaged, although only two were beyond repair. Maintenance removed, cleaned, and is storing the large rug until further assessment can be made of the water leaking situation. The floor in the portion of the room that will not be covered when the rug returns has been painted. Furnishings need to be rearranged.

The Nursery has been purged of its moldy carpet pad and rug and a fresh coat of paint has been applied to the entry area. Again through Fred Linger, a replacement carpet has been purchased and will be placed in the near future. Nursery furnishings need to be rearranged.

The parish appreciates the dedicated workers who have helped bring the Chapel back into good repair!

Lay Ministry Helpers
Holy Week
On Palm Sunday, March 29, we need readers for a dramatic reading of the Passion narrative.
On Maundy Thursday, April 2, we will hold an agape meal at 5 p.m., prior to the 7 p.m. service. We need cooks for this Mediterranean-themed meal (moussaka, Greek salad, baklava).
On Easter, April 5, at 10:30, we need a dovist--somebody to pilot the paper dove over the congregation.
Contact Robert to help with these areas of service.
