Annual Meeting | |
Review
The 2014 Annual Meeting of Harcourt Parish was held at the Parish House on Sunday, October 5th, preceded by a delicious lunch provided by Canterbury. After Abby Serfass led the group in prayer, The Reverend Sister Carin Delfs, who will serve Harcourt Parish as Long-term Supply Priest, spoke briefly about her background as a Sister of Saint Gregory and an ordained priest. The slate of candidates for open parish positions, listed below, was then unanimously elected.
Vestry, three-year term: Abby Serfass, Perry Lentz Vestry, two-year term: Alan Parker, Anna Duke Reach Vestry, one-year term: Carol Schumacher Vestry, student, one-year term: Janie Simonton '15, Anna Berger '15 Diocesan Convention representative, one-year term: Brian Pragacz '17, Robert Bennett, Sister Carin Delfs Mission Area Council representative, two-year term: Toma Lord Music Director Sharon Stoher, Junior Warden Susan Givens, Rummage Sale leader Kachen Kimmell, Treasurer John Elliott, and Senior Warden Richard Hood provided brief summaries of the year's accomplishments. Copies of the 2014 Annual Report, which contain their full reports (and many others), may be found near the east door entrance of the Chapel or obtained electronically through the parish office. On behalf of the Parish, John Elliot thanked Richard Hood for his years of hard work and faithful service on the vestry, especially since Helen's departure. His abilities and energy will be missed. True to his word, Richard kept the meeting short, and it adjourned at 1:30.

Acolyte Training | |
Oct. 20
Harcourt Parish will hold an acolyte training on Monday, Oct. 20, at 4:10 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Spirit. Abby Serfass will conduct the training. We urge everyone who is currently serving as an acolyte to attend, as well as those interested in beginning to serve as acolytes and crucifers at Harcourt. This includes children, students, and post-student adults, since we need participation from all three groups.
If you would like to acolyte and cannot attend, please contact Abby Serfass or Robert Bennett to discuss any individual training you would like. |
Work Days | | Beautify Our Spaces Gather at the Parish House on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. to paint, clean, and spruce up our space. More work was done in the basement of the chapel on Oct. 9. Thanks go to Pat McCulloh, Richard Hood, Perry Lentz, and Susan Givens for continuing their hard work in the basement of the chapel. Stop downstairs to see the fruits of their labors.

Stand Down Final Collection This Sunday
Once again our Parish is supporting Stand Down, a volunteer endeavor providing assistance to veterans of the nation's armed services who are in need.
We are collecting clean and new or gently used goods for both men and women: coats and jackets, slacks, sweatshirts and sweaters, scarves, gloves and mittens, socks, new underclothing, hats and caps, shoes and boots, and blankets.
Please bring your contributions to the Church of the Holy Spirit as soon as possible, but no later than Sunday, Oct. 19. Label bags "Stand Down Veterans." We will be gathering this year's collection near the north door.
