Greetings,

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season. For many of you it's back to school, back to work, nose to the grindstone. Don't forget to plan your own healthy maintenance for the year to help avoid those sudden injuries or acute flare ups. I can't tell you how many patients have hobbled into the office for care after simply bending over to tie their shoes or picking up their kid. Your practitioners will recommend a treatment plan for you to help keep you in the best shape possible. I also included some popular smart phone apps to help with any healthy New Year resolutions you may have set.   

 

 

Our complimentary seminars have returned! Our first one features:

Healthy Weight Loss

 Dr Shalviri, Naturopath and Dani Foster, Registered Acupuncturist, have teamed up and designed an 8 week program that combines gentle detoxification, body composition analysis, weekly nutritional  

counselling and acupuncture, and more. 

The seminar is on Thursday Jan 31 @ 6.45pm.
They will talk about the program as well as tips for achieving healthy weight loss. Please RSVP if you'd like to attend. We expect this one to fill up fast! 
 

 

*Everyone who attends the seminar will be given a free Bioelectrical Impedence Analysis (body composition analysis), an important tool in setting health goals, which can be booked at a later time.

This is the time of year when many of you have made New Year resolutions with getting active or losing weight being the most common one.     

 

There are many different paths to weight loss. While some are healthier than others, most weight-loss plans either don't work or offer only minor, and usually temporary, benefits. There are plenty of "rules and counting" diets, diet drugs, high-protein programs, canned shakes, and other fads that might enable you to lose some weight for a period of time. The problem that all these diet programs share is that you can't stay on them forever.

Active Patient Care and Chiropractic

I recently came across an article on Active Patient Care, and why corrective exercises are a key element of patient care. The excerpts that follow are from this article. In my experience in practice I found that patients, who actively participate in their care, tend to recover faster and have fewer recurrences of injuries. My goal in treating any injury is to help improve and maintain freedom of movement while improving function to meet each patient's needs.

Exercise has been shown to be the superior approach when it comes to resolving many of the musculoskeletal conditions we as chiropractors see on a daily basis.
