Writing Your Autobiography
September 5,12,19, and 26 from 3-5 pm

Riverside Cemetery Gate House, 1301 Riverside Drive

It's never too early or too late to start writing your life story. How many times have we sat around regretting that we never wrote down daddy's stories or recorded grandma's words of wisdom on paper?

This four-week course is designed to teach and encourage you adults to write your memoirs. Each week offers a step-by-step approach to tweak your memory and organize your thoughts.

Ed Grisamore, a columnist for The Macon Telegraph and the author of eight books and one Grammy-nominated audiobook, has been teaching this course since 2003 at Wesleyan and Georgia College, as well as several retirement communities and churches in Macon. In 2000, Ed helped his parents write and publish their life story as a Christmas gift for their children and grandchildren.

Ed has designed the course to be entertaining, stimulating and inspiring.  More than 50 of his students have gone on to publish books, with several more currently working toward publication.

"I remember interviewing a 92-year-old lady for a newspaper column a few years ago,'' Ed said. "She had just published a book about her life story. I asked what compelled her to write her memoirs, and I'll never forget what she told me.''

"Nobody,'' she said, "should die with the music inside them.''
