MeL Minute

Michigan Electronic Library (MeL) is a source of all sorts of information on our great state of Michigan. Our state motto is "Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam, circumspice" which is Latin for "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you." You could look that up, and nearly everything Michigan, in the MeL Database called "Michigana, Sources in U.S. History Online." There are links from the Teens Homework Help (Michigana is a bit more that half way down the page), and the Michigana Gateway. Note the clickable links in these references, for your convenience!

This digital archive draws from the Sabin Americana collection and other resources to include material useful to researchers from high school students to college professors. Memoirs, pamphlets, images, speeches, and primary source documents are all included. Construct your own search or choose from listed topics to begin your research. In "Advanced Search," select from over 25 document types and six different illustrated works. The possibilities are endless and you may be surprised at how much there is to learn about the great state of Michigan. Michigan, my Michigan. This database is available to Michigan residents or Michigan library access only.
