We have flowers in full bloom, and the trees have leafed out. Green is the new "in" color all along Lake Michigan. Join in our enjoyment of warm weather and sun. We have books and DVDs to enhance your summer fun. Your libraries are here to provide you with great reading, entertainment, information and education. There are lots of resources and programs available at both Ludington and Scottville libraries for everyone to join in.
New DVDs and books arrive every month at both libraries. The 'NEW BOOK ALERTS' link, below, is one way to find some of the new books and DVDs the library offers. Visit the library and check them out or go online to reserve them. Want online convenience, or don't have time to come to the library? MCDL's collection of downloadable eBooks, audiobooks, music and videos continues to grow. Check out all the new titles at the library's UpNorth Digital Collection. And if you love magazines then read your favorite titles (over 100) available at Zinio - with no check out or return you just download and read - for FREE.

Photo Holders Craft Night for Adults
Tuesday, June 4 at 6:00 pm crafters are invited to the Ludington Library to create photo holders. This activity is open to adults only. Supplies are provided at no charge, but donations are appreciated.

Dig into Reading! The 2013 Summer Reading Program for Ludington and Scottville Library will kick-off with a party full of games, crafts, stories, snacks, a chance to sign up for summer reading and more fun, Friday, June 7, 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Ludington Library
The Library closes at 6:00 pm and doors will reopen at 6:50 pm. All children must be signed in and out by an adult.

Join us at Ludington Library Monday, June 10, 1:00 pm for a program on pet safety. This presentation by Lakeshore Animal Friends will discuss safety around animals, the needs of pets, and the responsibility of caring for a living creature.

Dinosaurs to Reptiles
Dinosaurs to Reptiles is an exciting, live animal program that explores the characteristics of dinosaurs, and ancient amphibians, as well as reptiles of long ago. The presentation contains loads of interaction and hands-on activities with the animals, as well as demos with skulls, bones, fossils, and artifacts. Come in the the Ludington Library at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 17, to enjoy this up-close, hands-on, safe and fun, truly unforgettable experience!

Michigan Folktales
Focusing on Michigan only, this collection of stories and folktales will captivate and inform children of all ages about the peoples and places of the great state of Michigan. Learn about Native American legends and folktales, Paul Bunyan and lumberjack tales and other local stories. Join us at the Ludington Library on Monday, June 24, starting at 1:00 p.m. |

Used Book Sale
Looking ahead to July, the annual Friends of the Library Used Book Sale at Ludington Library will be Saturday, July 13, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Sunday, July 14, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. |
Dig into Digital at the Libraries
The Library continues to offer one-on-one instruction on using eReaders and audio devices with Library materials. Drop in Mondays any time between 10:00 am and 5:30 pm at Ludington Library to test drive top-selling devices and learn how to use the Library's FREE downloadable collection.
If you are in the Scottville area, Chris is also available for digital help on Wednesday evenings between 5:30 and 7:30.
If you already have a device and are looking for assistance, please bring a laptop, if possible, and the USB cable to connect your device to a computer.

Block Party Saturdays
Children and their families are invited to a Block Party using Lego brand bricks every Saturday between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, at Ludington Library. Blocks will be provided by the library. Children under age 3 are NOT invited to this event - there are many, many small parts that could be ingested.
