Each time our team enters a home, we see the opportunity to not only do much needed repair throughout the house, but we also are privileged to meet a new family and be part of their life.
The single mom families we serve don't go to a store or agency to receive help, but allow us to come into their private home, which most times is their safe haven and refuge. They hold pride in being a home owner and work hard to provide a place to raise their children. They may have mixed emotions; vulnerability, doubt, and even guilt. One mom wrote: "I felt guilty and not deserving of your generosity. It is rare to find an organization who really truly want to help"
These moms are easy to love and it brings us great joy to help them. They have so little, but their hearts are so big!!
As Chris always says, "What's not to love"
- They volunteer their time in the community.
- They advocate for each other.
- They sacrifice their open time to provide for their children
- They may work two jobs yet make time to take their children to soccer practice.
Thank you for being part of Be the Gift. Each of you are unique and possess abilities, and compassion that fuels BTG to keep moving forward. We are like- minded people with our eyes open to the needs of others and though busy in our day to day life, go the extra mile.
