One thing we love about Be the Gift are the people we meet of all ages and walks of life. Different stages of their life's journey bring fascinating stories of their past and where they are heading. We are experiencing A New Generation of people who don't just accept their life, but lead it. They have a vision of exactly where they want to go and how they want to help, causing them to develop priorities, maintain focus and a sense of urgency. This vision becomes their driving force. Instead of only settling for what their spiritual or church life once was, they are shaping their world rather than fitting into its mold.
As Dale put it, "I spent my life from about the fifth grade on in the church with many good friendships and opportunities to share my heart & talents. I loved it! Somewhere along the way I realized that I had become a prisoner of duty and obligation. I grew tired of being a spectator. That sounds strange to say since I was often a part of the 'ministry team', but it was nevertheless how I felt. I had a deep longing to be a part of something that was 'bigger than me.'
This new generation of young people is scheduling their life around the core values of their faith. They are in touch with what they feel is important in life and align their activities to reflect those core values. It influences what they will do, what they will avoid and where they will devote their most valuable asset.....Time!
