We collaborated and partnered with Lowe's Home Improvement Store to help three Single Mom Families. Once a year, their employees participate in Hero's Day and volunteer their time.

We of course believe our Single Moms are hero's as they juggle all of life while doing their best to raise their children.  SO...  a match was made and much was accomplished.

Thank you Lowe's for funding these projects and thanks to the amazing hardworking volunteers that gave of their time. The impact on the lives of the families you helped is immeasurable.

Special thanks to our BTG Project Managers who donate all of their time, resources and skills to manage our home repair projects.  We could not do any of what we do without you.

We were able to replace two of her large windows that had moisture leaking in.  We also painted her home and repaired her shed and garage storage area. Her Lowe's team was very diligent and returned several times to her home to finish the project. Debbi wrote: "thank you to all the wonderful people from Be the Gift and Lowe's who volunteered their personal time to come help at our home.... It is hard to express how grateful we are!. I feel for the first time in awhile that our home is in decent shape.  You can't put a price on that"   

Jennifer H has six delightful, friendly children.  They are very active in sports and music and they love and support their mom. Jennifer does her best to keep a job & run her home while tending to her children's needs.  Her home like many is lacking in repairs  BTG and the team of Lowe's tackled her list. We focus on health and safety issues, and so this home was a priority on our list.

We cut down large bushes blocking her front door, trimmed trees, replaced her broken front door, painted her back porch and fixed the awning and repaired her downstairs bathroom. Lowe's was very generous in also replacing her very old furnace with a brand new one. 

 This team of volunteers worked into the early evening. A

quote I recently heard applies here so well. " I am not telling you it is going to be easy, I am telling you it is going to be worth it."

To see the joy and relief on Jennifer's face and the amazement on the children's faces was definitely worth it. What a great day.

   

Jennifer is raising her daughter and working full time, often on weekends. Her front yard was in need of help as it was eroding onto the sidewalk.

 Her group of skilled volunteers built a retaining wall as well as fixed the irrigation system and rebuilt her planter boxes so she can maintain the yard. Jennifer posted her thank you on Facebook and said, WOW...these guys do great work took the time and dedication my project needed. They truly are gifts from God. I will truly be in gratitude and think of you guys. I wish
