We're on the Radio- "Traci Rock Show"

Home Repair Assistance for Single Moms and their children as a gift to them.

SEPTEMBER 2014

   SCHOLARSHIP  RECIPIENTS:

We at Be the Gift are proud of our Scholarship Certificate Program.  We know first hand how hard Single Moms work keeping everything going in their lives.  We also know they have big goals and plans for their future that may have been altered because of their circumstances

.

This Scholarship Fund started with that very vision and purpose in mind- to provide a way for them to make their dreams a reality.

This year, we had the privilege of helping two Single Moms as they work toward achieving their degree.

 Meet Jackie

Jackie is in the last stretch of Dental Hygiene School.  She will finish next April

and hopes to get a job in the Front Range Area

Meet Aubry

One of the requirements to receive a BTG scholarship is for the recipient to contribute 10 hours of service back into the community.  Some do home repair projects with BTG and some like Aubry and her children helped us with a fundraiser this last summer.

She currently works full time in a Human Services Program and her goal is to get her Bachelors Degree in that area.

We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2015 Semester. Visit our website for more info

Congratulations Jackie and Aubry.  We are so proud of you and your accomplishments !!!

Moving into new areas

The need for single mom home repair assistance has never been greater. We receive requests every day- many from other states. We do have a Be the Gift operating in Nebraska. It is run by two special friends, Dick and Sally. They have great passion and compassion for serving in their area and have been involved with BTG from the beginning.

We in Colorado are expanding South. We have worked in a dozen Denver homes already this year with many many more moms on waiting lists- we will get to them soon. We have two project managers in the Denver area, but are looking for more managers as well as volunteers who could give just a small portion of their time to help these ladies.

Also, we have partnered with Lowe's Home Improvements in Colorado Springs as part of their "employee heroes" day. Their employees along with BTG will be doing home repairs for three delightful Single Moms and their children at the end of this month. We are blessed and feel privileged to work side by side with the people at Lowe's

Change is Good: Reaching Out

RADIO: As many of you know, we are on the radio with Crawford Broadcasting.  Our desire is to reach more people with the vision of BTG as well as meet new volunteers, single moms and generate more funding for our projects.  LeChelle and Marla were part of the TraciRock Show this week and told their amazing stories of both triumph and struggle. Coming up: interviews with some of our volunteers.  Be the Gift has vision to bless and come along side so many more single moms that need help, we just need to get the word out.

Hello Be the Gift Family

As you have read this newsletter you'll learn of some amazing people and their accounts of where they are in life. You'll read about moms succeeding in obtaining their education, moms sharing of their journey in life on the radio, plus people giving of their time and talents from Nebraska to Colorado Springs helping make the homes of single moms a better place to live.

What's really cool is this is just a fraction of what is happening with all those engaged with BTG. Miracles and relationship happens when people engage each other right where their life is taking them. What I mean is life isn't lived in rows, it is lived in circles.

Let me say it this way, The greatest moments of Jesus' ministry were when they are gathered around where life was just...happening: In a boat down by the sea, by a well where people gathered their water, in the home of friends, around a table for dinner, by a sycamore tree, on a hill side, by a pool called Bethesda, with those of different faiths ,during parties and funerals and the list goes on and on. If I dare say it, if your Christian experience is lived more seated in a row and not in the circles of people's lives, you're missing the very essence of who we are meant to be as Christ followers and demonstrators of His love.

God has surrounded us with wonderful friends and the support to carry BTG on.  Thank you for your input, help and generosity.

Love and God Bless  Chris and Marilyn   undefined
