ALL BECAUSE OF YOU

When Be the Gift first began, we were surrounded by contractors, carpenters, painters and handymen. We packed up our trailer and set out to repair homes for Single Moms.

As with many non-profits, we have hearts of compassion and want to make a difference in someone's life. We all have numbers, stats, reports and figures to measure the impact we have had in the lives of those we serve. Our main focus will always be repair and renovation of Single Mom homes, however, in the process of fixing "things" to create a healthier, safer functioning home environment, a transformation takes place. All because of you, this last year in particular, we witnessed many stories where Be the Gift reached people physically, emotionally and spiritually. We could not express this better than the single moms, so we will let their words speak for themselves.....

"Dear Wonderful people at Be the Gift

I am speechless and in total amazement of how God is providing for all of us through you. Thank you for the repairs, the food and the propane. The last 2 years we ran out of propane in the middle of the winter. We had to all stay in 1 room during the coldest months with a space heater. You are all so amazing, and especially show me that people do still care."

"It was amazing to see a small army of people gathered in front of my house and the ringing of the door bell as others joined in throughout the day. Complete strangers helping out a complete stranger. It was one of the most incredible days I have had" 

"Be the Gift has been a Godsend. Since I am a widow with asthma and an artificial knee, I cannot do a lot of upkeep on the house and yard. My yard looks so great, I do not have to worry about the city complaining anymore".    

"It was such a treat having your gifts under our tree this year. Birthdays and Christmas have had to be sort of put on hold. We have just chalked it up to "the way it is". Be the Gift decided this year it was not going to be like that for us. If your goal was to put smiles on our faces- mission accomplished!!"

To hear these words from our Single Mom Families is humbling to us as an organization. We are grateful to our staff, volunteers and each of you the "wonderful people" these ladies are referring to who have made it all happen.
