UNREQUITED LOVE.....WHAT?

Reading an article this week I came across some quotes from Charles Schultz who of course is the author of the comic strip "Peanuts" that features Charlie Brown and Snoopy.  Here are a few of my favorites.

"Life is like a ten speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use."

"All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt."

"In the Book of Life, The answers aren't in the back."

"Happiness is waking up, looking at the clock and finding that you still have two hours left to sleep."

"A whole stack of memories never equal one little hope."

"Nothing takes the taste out of peanut butter quite like unrequited love."

WHAT!  So what kind of love can take the taste out of peanut butter (especially peanut butter M&M's) ?

An unrequited love which is simply a love that that is not returned or reciprocated. We hear from people and our single moms every week and probably this is the deepest hurt or wound they have.  Having unrequited love, not feeling loved in return; giving all the time and feeling they're getting nothing in return; going to work, church and family gatherings and still feel friendless, lonely and forgotten.

Unfortunately this type of feeling can weaken the human heart and spirit.  The feeling of being defeated and wondering if there is a way out.  Regrettably having unrequited love, never leaves us the same, it changes people and creates a gap between themselves and others, or more deeply between them and God!.

WAIT, don't leave this article depressed because the solution and remedy is as close as well.... US.

* We have the power to make anyones life taste better.

* We may not have all the answers, but we can listen.

* We don't need to give all of our time, but like salt a

little can go a long way.

* We don't need to be everyone's best friend, but we

  can befriend everyone.

You see our approach at Be the Gift is that we can't repair the entire house, but we can make a room or two a whole lot better. So join us in helping Single Moms and their kids have a better taste for life one room at a time, there is a place for you.

We appreciate each of you and  hearing from you.  Keep in touch, enjoy your fall season.

SUMMER  YARD PROJECTS

Summer  is filled with opportunity to help Single Moms catch up on much needed yard repair. They wear many hats and often run out of time and energy and find it difficult to get to their yard especially without a truck or means of removing debris and waste.  Most of us can pitch in with yard work and our volunteers enjoy being able to work together outside and help

Jacque and Doug joined the annual "Faith in Action" Team as they all helped two moms--Harriett and Susan with exterior painting and home and shed maintenance

This team of young adults helped Cyndi and her family who were overwhelmed with yard debris by clearing it out and removing it.
