Dear Friends. The month of October was one of not only completing home repair projects, but also a variety of service in many different areas of need.
Ephesians 3:20 says " Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,"
Paul is speaking encouragement to the Ephesians about how wide and deep and long and high is the love of Christ, the same message we are speaking to those God has put in our path lately.
A portion of our BTG Mission Statement, and one that has especially become a reality in the last few months is.. An expanded personal encounter that leads to seeing more, hearing more and feeling more of God than you've ever experienced in your spiritual journey.
Our encouragement to you is to purposely seek out opportunities to help someone, lend a hand to those in need, give assistance, serve your neighbor and be generous with your kind words. I can offer another cliché but the point is that we will never experience the real depth of God in our own lives until we get deep into the lives of people around us.

Meet Nancy. She wrote to us "Dear Be the Gift. From the day we met over 2 years ago,you have been a gift to me and you keep on giving. Thank you so much for making my house beautiful and safe for my homecoming after fighting cancer for 3 years and having stem cell surgery. I can't tell you how much it means to me" Here is her story.
Nancy has battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma twice. After enduring brutal back to back treatments of chemo and radiation for two years, she was given an 80% chance the cancer would still recur. Her best chance was to have a stem cell transplant. Because of the nature of the transplant, when Nancy returned to her home, she would carry very little immunity. She had been given a strict code to live by for one year. Her home needed to be as sterile as possible.. no molds, dirt and very little dust. As you might imagine, being a single mom fighting a disease and with little resources, her home had become "run down". BTG did extensive outside work and several home repairs for Nancy about a year ago, but nothing to this extent and what the hospital standard for her was to be. A team of at least 30 volunteers, contractors, plumbers, carpenters etc. committed to tear out the old unacceptable areas and parts of her home and put in new. It was organized by a friend of Nancy's daughter Aspen.
Be the Gift's main part in all this was within the healthy air arena... thus the name "Operation Clean Air". Because of the generosity of many of you who donated money, we were able to have Monster Vac come in and clean and sterilize the air ducts. Then we followed up with new ceiling fans, mold free kitchen tile and a huge house cleaning to assure Nancy the best possible chance the stem cell transplant would be successful, for her body to heal and the disease she had carried would leave her body for good. She expressed to us how loved she feels. Nancy has experienced God's love in a new and tangible way. We pray and believe for a long happy life for Nancy. | | |
