March 2013 Newsletter
Greetings!

Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy Spring!  Just got home from Utah for spring break with the kids and totally missed getting the March newsletter in March, so it's going out on April fool's day!

Hope you all got a chance to do something nice over this holiday week.  Even if you didn't get away, you probably got outside for a hike, a bike ride, or nice long run to welcome the spring season.  Thinking about getting some new athletic gear for your outdoor activities? We are loving Atayne's new REC T line of recycled performance tops which we just added to our online boutique. Or if your idea of a perfect spring day is strutting around in style, we are thrilled to announce our imported designer eco friendly clothing collection from ellecante.  We are offering FREE SHIPPING through the end of April on this super chic line with code ELLECANTE at checkout.

In addition to spending more time outdoors and wearing nicer clothing, you may be thinking of heading to the salon for that spring pedicure.  Before you do, make sure to read Chryso's suggestions for natural nail care.  Another popular spring activity is clearing out the closets and garage of old junk.  But before you throw it away, take some advice from Macklemore who says that "one man's trash is another man's come-up" and see if someone else wants what you have. Not sure where to start?  Then read Silvia's rundown on the hottest new trend called collaborative consumption.

Hope you enjoy these articles and all our new content from March.  Onward to April!

Best regards,

Chryso's Beauty Buys: Nail Care

The winter season in the northeast (where I hibernate) doesn't seem to want to end. Despite the arrival of 'Spring' on our calendars (March 20th), temps have barely crept over the 40 degree mark and we're still days away from tucking our long down coats into storage bins. Read More!

The Sierra Club: Protect Utah's Canyonlands!

Protect Utah's Canyonlands! The Greater Canyonlands of Utah are icons of American beauty -- stunning red-rock formations, labyrinths of jaw-dropping canyons, and living desert stretch as far as the eye can see. From the artifacts buried beneath the desert ground to its stunning vistas, and unique geologic formations, this piece of America is at the core of the wild legacy we have the responsibility to preserve.

But now this amazing area is under attack. Big corporations want to get their hands on them to mine for uranium, drill for oil and frack for gas.

Tell President Obama to permanently protect the Greater Canyonlands by naming it as a national monument.

Center for Biological Diversity: Tell John Kerry: Limit Greenhouse Gas Pollution From Aviation

Last year the industry even got Congress to pass legislation which would allow U.S. airlines to ignore the European Union's new rules to reduce aviation emissions. The result: The EU program was suspended for one year to allow for an international body to put together an agreement to reduce global emissions from the sector.

Now we need to make sure our new secretary of state hears from us: The aviation sector should not be exempted from reducing their emissions.

We need a binding international agreement to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas pollution from aviation now

The U.S. Navy's plan for testing and training with dangerous mid-frequency sonar and explosives could kill more than 1,000 marine mammals over the next five years.

Tell the National Marine Fisheries Service to reject the Navy's reckless plan and put safeguards in place that will protect marine animals without compromising military readiness
