February 2013 Newsletter
Greetings!

Happy last day of the shortest month of the year!  Have those of you in the Northeast been out there enjoying all this snow?  I know my dog Pepper has - check her out digging up snow in Riverside Park:

Pepper Digging in Snow

How cute is she?  OK, now back to our regular newsletter.  What an amazing turnout for the Climate Rally on February 17th in D.C.  Tiffany makes a guest appearance this month with her summary of the historic event.  Also this month., Robin and Silvia both have some fantastic suggestions for greening your home and avoiding toxins in your indoor air.  Those toxins are everywhere, not just in our furniture but also in our makeup: some eyeliners have been found to contain toxins linked to cancer.  Thankfully, Chryso has her review of low hazard eyeliners in her monthly review of safe cosmetics

We also have some very unique new items this month from our friends at the Broadway Green Alliance, some awesome new handmade jewelry from Bottled Up, and some comfy new eco friendly clothing selections from LUR apparel. Don't forget your 10% discount for being a loyal reader of this newsletter!

Have a wonderful weekend and we'll be back really soon with our March newsletter!

Best regards,

Chryso's Beauty Buys: Eyeliner

Ready to add lots of pop to your peepers? Eye liner is like the 'little black dress' of the face because it instantly livens it up. For example, you can make your palette look more sophisticated if you line your eyes with charcoal and other muted hues. Read More!

The US is about to treat the world to the first genetically modified meat: a mutant salmon that could wipe out wild salmon populations and threaten human health - but we can stop it now before our plates are filled with suspicious Frankenfish.

The consultation is happening right now and we have a real chance to keep mutant fish off the menu. Sign to say NO to Frankenfish and share widely -- when we reach 1 million, our call will be officially submitted to the public consultation.

Wolf recovery across the United States is in jeopardy.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife now wants to remove protections for wolves in the remaining lower 48 states -- including the Pacific Northwest, California, the southern Rocky Mountains and Northeast -- even though wolves are only just beginning to recover in these areas.
