Life Changing Leadership Opportunity for Missouri's Youth

Missouri Youth Leadership Forum
The Missouri Youth Leadership Forum has announced its 13th annual statewide youth leadership forum for high school students with disabilities, ages 16-21, to be held at the University of Missouri campus in Columbia on July 26-30, 2015. The Forum is a unique 5 day training program that cultivates leadership, citizenship, social, and career development skills. Lodging, meals, accommodations are all provided at no cost. 

 

The Governor's Council on Disability is currently accepting applications for this event. To learn more and to complete the application visit http://disability.mo.gov/gcd/ylf.htm.

Deadline for submitting the application is March 1, 2015.

Cultural Fair "Festival de Latinos"
To celebrate the cultural richness of Central and South America, the Missouri School for the Deaf is holding a cultural celebration called Festival de Latinos from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on March 3, 2015, on the campus of the Missouri School for the Deaf (MSD) located in Fulton, MO.  All deaf and hard of hearing students across the state of Missouri are invited to participate.  Students will be immersed in deaf culture and cultures from several Central and South American countries.  To register for this event, contact Laura Smith at Laura.Smith@msd.dese.mo.gov or at (573) 592-2535
