2016 NWPC ENDORSED CANDIDATES
The numbers of women holding elected office in California are at all time lows. Today, women comprise just under 30% of all elected officials at the city, county and state level. Of the 120 seats in the California Senate and Assembly, we hold less than 25% legislators, as only 1 in 4 seats is held by a woman. This year alone, four influential leaders will term out in the Senate -- Loni Hancock, Fran Pavley, Lois Wolk and Carol Liu -- and it is imperative that we hold those seats or risk an even further decline in representation. We will talk with some of the women who are at the forefront of the fight to hold the line on women's representation in elected office, including....

Megan Sahi-Wells
Mayor of Culver City (up for re-election)

The election will be held  on Tuesday, April 12th. She is the only woman presently serving on the city council and only the fifth woman elected to the council in the city's 99 year history.
