JUNE 18: BOARD MEETING

Join us on Thursday, June 18th, 2015 for our monthly meeting at Seasons 52 Century City (located at the Westfield Century City mall, validated parking available) beginning at 7:00 PM until approximately 9:00 PM. All current members, and those interested in learning more about our chapter, are welcome to attend! We look forward to meeting you! 

Congratulations to Karriann Farrell Hinds on her Commission Appointment!    

We would like to congratulate our Director of Operations, Karriann Farrell Hinds, on her recent appointment to the Los Angeles County Commission for Women by Supervisor Sheila Kuehl (3rd District). The Commission for Women is charged with advocating for the lives and well being of women through building strong collaboration, sharing available resources, and educating and empowering through participation in the legislative process. Through its work, the Commission seeks to represent the interest and concerns of women of all races, ethnic and social backgrounds, religious convictions, sexual orientation and social circumstances. We look forward to working with Karriann and the Commission to continue advancing the cause of increasing the numbers of women serving in elected and appointed office across Los Angeles County and beyond.

JOIN US JUNE 17 for a SEARCH PARTY in Woodland Hills
      

NWPC LA Westside, NWPC San Fernando Valley and other women leaders are partnering with Close the Gap to hold a "Search Party" on Wednesday, June 17th in Woodland Hills to talk with women about running for office in the 2016 elections. 
 
2016 is shaping up to be a remarkable election year and presents a unique opportunity for women to take the courageous leap to put their name on the ballot. 
 
If you or someone you know has thought about running, come out to the Woodland Hills Library on June 17th to learn more about how you can help "Close the Gap" and elect more women to office. 
 
The event is free, but please RSVP with "SFV search party" in the subject line.

"Breaking the Glass Ceiling" Awards, presented by NWPC CA  
 

Do you know a woman who deserves recognition for her continuous efforts to prove that glass ceilings are meant to be broken? Then consider nominating her for the NWPC CA "Breaking the Glass Ceiling" Awards. Nominations will be accepted through June 15th. The event will be held on July 11, 2015.
