WELCOME to 2015!

Get Engaged With Our Caucus This Year

NWPC LA Westside is off to a great start in advancing the engagement of women in the political process! The year began with the endorsement of several women in the upcoming March 3, 2015 election, (Are you registered? Check the LA County Registrar's website to find out: www.lavote.net) the announcement of the retirement of the highly regarded Senator Barbara Boxer, and a well attended first board meeting of the year where we introduced our new board and even added a few members. We will have many great opportunities for women to learn how to take that first step towards running for elected office and how to support other women who haven't already made the commitment to run and serve. We look forward to keeping you informed and working with you to make sure that women run and that, when women run, women win!

Two of our Board members - Barbi Appelquist and Robyn Ritter Simon - are panelists at the Ready to Run conference sponsored by Mount St. Mary's University in conjunction with Ready to Run on February 7. Please attend and circulate the invite to your friends, colleagues or women you know who are contemplating a run for office. It should be an empowering day and we hope you can join us. Come for just one or all four of the panels. Some great speakers, including speakers who focus on combating women's economic inequality; speakers who are fighting sex trafficking and slavery; speakers who are fighting for women's equality within the political arena, our own NWPC LA Westside's Karriann Farrell Hinds and Robyn Ritter Simon; and Lindsey Horvath, endorsed candidate in West Hollywood City Council elections, with Bettina Duval, President of California List. The keynote speaker, Paula Donovan, has a long history of advocacy on behalf of women.

West Hollywood City Council Elections

NWPC LA Westside is proud to announce that we have endorsed Lindsey P. Horvath in her campaign for election to the West Hollywood City Council. Lindsey is a past NWPC LA Westside president and is a staunch advocate for women's equality. Endorsed LACCD Candidates - March Election

Los Angeles Community College District

Several NWPC chapters, including NWPC LA Westside, NWPC Metro, NWPC South Bay, NWPC San Ferdando Valley and NWPC Pasadena, joined together as the Los Angeles Coordinating Council to endorse candidates for the LACCD Board of trustees for the upcoming March elections. Endorsements:

Seat 1: Andra Hoffman & Francesca Vega (Dual Endorsement by LACCD)
Seat 3: Sydney Kamlager
Seat 7: Joyce Burrell Garcia
