JANUARY 20: BOARD MEETING

Join us for our monthly Board Meeting at Smith House Tap & Grill (back room) at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 20 (address: 10351 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, 90025). MAP. All NWPC LA Westside members are welcome to attend. Not a member? Come to this meeting to join and get involved. RSVP here - or for more information on our chapter.

NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

We all support this organization because we understand the value of achieving equal representation in politics. Without women at the table, we have seen the introduction of over 1,100 anti-women's health bills by legislative bodies across the country in the last several years. Although we have elected a record number of women in the Congress and Senate in response to these attacks and in an attempt to protect our reproductive rights, there is much more work to be done. Right here in Los Angeles, the second largest city in the country, we only have one woman serving on our City Council and we have never elected a women mayor. We know how difficult it is to find women to run for public office, so NWPC is committed to supporting women who step up and choose to run. Our newly elected Board looks forward to helping women answer the call to serve in these challenging times and welcomes your help in this effort!

Upcoming Elections
March Primary | Endorsements Vote Upcoming

NWPC LA Westside endorses pro-choice, women candidates seeking election in municipal races within our region, including the offices of mayor, city council, school board, and select boards and commissions. Our chapter collaborates with local chapters to endorse candidates seeking election to offices whose races cover multiple regions, including county board of supervisors and Los Angeles mayor, and to make recommendations to NWPC CA for endorsement of candidates for state and federal offices, including the California Assembly and Legislature, Congress and statewide offices, such as Governor. You can find more information on our territory boundaries on our website. We will vote at our January 20 board meeting (details above) to endorse candidates for races in the upcoming March, 2015 primary. At the meeting the PAC will present West Hollywood city council recommendations for endorsement and funding.  In addition, we will recommend funding for Los Angeles City, LAUSD, and Los Angeles Community College Board of Directors who have been endorsed by other chapters or the LACCC. Please view Current and Past PAC Endorsements here.
