Slow Internet?
Here's what we look at...- How old is your router/modem? If it's more than 4 or 5 years old, or looks like the one in this picture, you need to replace it.
- Are all the computers in the house/office slow or just 1? If it's just one, it's not your network, it's the computer.
- Open your browser and disable all the addons except those related to Java, Adobe and your virus protection.
- How many devices do you have in the house that are downloading/streaming movies and games? If you have a busy household or office that is constantly bringing large quantities of data, Uverse, DSL is not going to cut it. You need cable and you need one of the bigger faster streaming packages.
- Call your internet service provider and have them test your line and your modem. They can do this from their office without a service call. Always do this before you call us or somebody else that you will have to pay.
- Update your virus protection and run a scan.
- Try another browser. If you are using Internet Explorer, try using Google Chrome. Is it still slow?
