  • Internet Explorer 10 is out. We recommend holding off on bringing in this update. There are still some bugs and many websites do not work well when viewed using this version of Explorer.
  • If you are doing business on a website, make sure the url begins with https, NOT http. The https represents and more secure site.

New computer for your soon to be college student?
graduate computer
Here's what you need to know

  • Ask what the school or program recommends. The computers and software they suggest will be the technology that they are most prepared to support when your student needs tech help.
  • Do not wait until the end of August to make your computer purchase. There are many sales during spring and summer that will save you from paying full price on your new machine. This also gives your college student a chance to get to know the computer before heading to campus. Computers make excellent graduation gifts!
  • Hold off on the printer. Ink is expensive. Most colleges offer print services. In the end, your student will probably end up using these services when they need to print.
  • You've seen the way your kids treat their things. Invest in that extended warranty! It just might save them during finals, when their computer breaks. In our experience, the extended warranty is always worth the extra cash.
  • Many colleges offer free or hugely discounted software. Many also require a specific virus protection in order to be on their network. Before buying any software, check with the school bookstore to see what they require and offer.

We are always happy to help our clients with technology purchases. Contact us if you have questions.
