We get these all the time... here are your answers
  • Virus Protection? Nothing is bullet proof. We have cleaned up after all the major security programs. We like the free version of AVAST... NOT THE PAID VERSION.   We also like Eset Nod32 and Vipre.
  • Ipad or laptop? An Ipad is not a substitute for a computer, its a supplement. If you need to do any significant typing, document work, it's awkward on an Ipad. Ipads are great for checking email, facebook, looking something up on the internet, sharing pictures...
  • Pc or Mac? How big is your budget? You will spend twice as much money on a Mac. How open are you to a learning curve? 
  • What makes a good password? It should be at least 8 digits, numbers, letters, Capitals, lower case.  Do NOT use the same password on everything and change the password on a regular basis.
  • Who is a good email provider? We like Gmail. It's not tied to an internet service provider so if you change, you don't have to change your email address. It does not get hacked as often as the other major email providers. It has a good spam filter.
