Our Mission:  Build Networks, Inspire Leadership, Drive Business Success and Ignite Passion

President's Message

The New Year has arrived and many of us are thinking about
our new years resolutions, both personally and professionally. While we won't be offering to go to the gym with you, we will be here to help you with your professional growth and relationship building in 2015.

2014 was an interesting year in the ever changing world of Human Resources. Whether it's the continued implementation of PPACA, NLRB challenges or the SHRM / HRCI certification shake up. Here at HRMA we're dedicated to providing you with interesting educational topics and useful networking opportunities. We've applied to be a SHRM preferred certification provider, which we hope will allow us to offer re-certification credit for every luncheon or educational event. Additionally, we plan on continuing our relationship with HRCI and hope to be able to support your re-certification efforts with your existing certifications as well.

We received good feedback from the speed networking event in December and we anticipate bringing more hands on workshops and other interesting events in the coming year. Our goal is to offer you take away opportunities from every event, things that you can bring back to your workplace and implement.

Last year SHRM introduced us to the HR competency wheel and our intent for 2015 is to introduce topics that follow each of the competency areas of the wheel. We will be addressing topics such as Leadership, Communication, Business Acumen, Relationship Management, Global and Cultural Effectiveness, etc.

As always we appreciate your feedback and while we can't be all things to all people, please know that we strive to provide you with a proper return on your HRMA membership investment.

Monthly Member Luncheon January 20, 2015
Integrating Today's Workforce into your Organization

A Millennial can be a very productive employee if managed correctly, come and join us in the new year as we learn how to best work with this employee.

What will you learn from this session?

  • Who is the Millennial workforce?
  • The main characteristics of a Millennial, what you should know.
  • The leadership and guidance needed by a Millennial from his/her employer.
  • How to provide the needed structure in the workplace for a Millennial.
  • The traits and characteristics of a Millennial that provides you, the employer, an advantage for having them be a part of your workforce.

Whether or not you enjoy working with Millennials, this employee is now a huge part of our workforce. Millennials can be crucial to our organization; most of us just don't know the best way to leverage their talents.
