I saw the above comic during the week last week and thought it was very funny as I know putting up the tree can be quite frustrating sometimes and thought you would all get a kick out of it as well! :)

A quick reminder that tomorrow night is De Pere at Dusk at The Kress Inn in De Pere from 5-7 p.m. It is open to the public and free to attend! We hope to see you there! It will be a great holiday event. Also, an announcement that we have canceled this Wednesday's De Pere at Dawn due to low registration. But will be back again in January 2015!!

The halls will be decked with boughs of holly and we will be fa-la-la-la-la-ing at the Kress Inn on the picturesque St. Norbert College Campus for our Holiday De Pere at Dusk.

To help promote safety during this holiday season, the Volunteer Center of East Central WI is partnering with the American Red Cross's Home Fire Preparedness Campaign to reduce the number of fire deaths and injuries throughout the entire United States by 25% within 5 years. In recognition of Giving Tuesday and as celebration of the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation's 50th anniversary, 50 employees of Integrys Energy Group and its subsidiaries Wisconsin Public Service, Minnesota Energy Resources, and Michigan Gas Utilities, were randomly chosen to designate a non-profit of their choice to receive a $250 donation funded by the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation. Through a random drawing, 50 employees where given the opportunity to pay it forward by selecting a non-profit organization to receive a $250 donation, for a total of $12,500. Kellers, Planners, Architects and Builders has been ranked the number three, "Top Metal Builder" in the nation in 2013 according to Metal Construction News' annual ranking for tons of steel purchases. Keller purchase 8,182 tons of steel for construction in 2013. Keller was also ranked number eight in the Nation and number one in Wisconsin by the same publication based on square footage. Keller construction projects in 2013 included 1,069,785 square feet. View full news release here.

Late last year, Wisconsin Public Service, a subsidiary of Integrys Group, announced a need for an additional 400-500 megawatts of electric generating capacity by 2019. Among the options it considered to purchase power from other energy suppliers, buy an existing or new generating facility, or add another natural gas-fueled generator to the site of the Fox Energy Center near Wrightstown, WI. After nearly a year of review and analysis, the company has determined that adding a generator to Fox Energy Center is the best option for customers. It expects to file an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin in January 2015. View full news release here.

Scheels Kids Kulb ~ Make A Christmas Ornament with Mrs. Claus:
Scheels, 4301 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Appleton, 6-7pm. Join us in creating a Christmas ornament to take home and hang on your tree. Enjoy some goodies and write your letter to Santa. Thursday

Holiday Wreath Making Workshop to benefit the YWCA:
Mayflower Greenhouse, 726 Airport Drive, Oneida 6-8pm. Take a break from the hustle and bustle and join us at Mayflower for a Holiday Wreath Making Workshop with funds going to the YWCA. The $35 fee incldes a 20" wreath, appetizers that includes bruschetta, Swedish meatballs, taco dip, cheese and ssause tray, cheese spreads, and turkey and wild rice soup. Cocoa and wine will be served too. 920-869-2045.

Santa in the Park:
Josten Park, 2280 Town Hall Road, Green Bay, 6-7:30pm. Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa Clause is coming to Bellevue. Boys and girls between the ages of 2-12 will get the opportunity to meet and greet Santa and his reindeer! Special attratctions at the event will include Santa, a live reindeer display, hot chocolate, and a fun, holiday craft. Admission is free of charge, but pre-regristration is required by registering online at www.villageofbellevue.org


Friday

Green Bay Botanical Garden's WPS Garden of Lights: Starts Friday, November 28th. It will be open Friday-Saturday from 5-9pm through December 28th.

Saturday

Craft Show: East Town Mall, 2350 E. Mason Street, Green Bay, 10am-6pm. The craft show has been held for over 25 years! The halls will be filled with talented crafters and vendors offering awesome crafts, products, gifts, and services.

US 41 Project 
Lane Closures 
December 8th - December 12th 


Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

WIS 172

The following ramps will be closed:
  • Northbound US 41 to westbound WIS 172 ramp will be closed nightly, Tuesday through Friday from 6pm to 6am.
    • Northbound US 41 traffic seeking westbound WIS 172 will be detoured off at Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Pilgrim Way, and follow Pilgrim Way west to westbound WIS 172.
  • Northbound US 41 to eastbound WIS 172 ramp will be closed nightly, Tuesday through Thursday from 6pm to 6am.
    • Northbound US 41 traffic seeking eastbound WIS 172 will be detoured off at Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Vanderperren Way and follow Vanderperren Way east to eastbound WIS 172.
  • Westbound WIS 172 ramp to northbound US 41 will be closed nightly, Tuesday through Friday from 7pm to 7am.
    • Westbound WIS 172 traffic seeking northbound US 41 will be detoured off at Pilgrim Way, follow Pilgrim Way east to Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Lombardi Avenue and follow Lombardi Avenue west to northbound US 41.
