Prevent, Delay, and Survive Cancer

The Lyle Lamers Family Memorial Cancer Lecture in partnership withthe CVCI Foundation proudly presents Prevent, Delay, and Survive Cancer by Clifford S. Pukel, MD, Hermatologist, Medical Oncologist. Dr. Pukel will be speaking about what one can do to prevent cancer, delay its occurence and/or improve one's chances of surviving this disease. From a historical perspective, it should come as no surprise to his audience that cancer is a disease that all too often is a consequence of unhealthy lifestyle choices that we make decades before it appears. In this fascinating look at cancer over more than a century of observations and scientific discovery, Dr. Pukel helps to explain in general terms the ways to improve our health. This lecture will explain the risk factors that may be considered cancer generating.

Dr. Pukel also considers the future and makes a compelling argument for his belief that cancer will never be entirely conquered, but that it will be controlled with methods designed to stimulate the immune system to control this often terrible disease, and to reduce its incidence through carefully constructed cancer vaccines.

When: Wednesday, October 29th
Time: 7-8pm
Where: West De Pere High School, 665 Grant Street, De Pere, WI
