This Thursday is our annual Chairman's Gala where we celebrate the successes of the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce and our outgoing Board Chairman, Brad Toll, President and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau. Each year we have a keynote speaker and this year we will be focusing on Brad's area of work, tourism. Stephanie Klett, who is the Secretary of Tourism in Wisconsin will be our keynote speaker! If you have not already bought tickets, it isn't too late!! Single tickets are $40 for members of our Chamber and $50 for non-members. Chairman's Gala


We have set a date for our Chairman's Gala!! Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 9th from 5-9pm at The Swan Club in De Pere! We will be honoring our Chairman of the Board, Brad Toll, President & CEO of the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau and welcoming in our 2015 Chair of the Board, Chris Knight, President of SparkNET Interactive!! Stephanie Klett, Cabinet Secretary with the Department of Tourism will be our keynote speaker!

With October being proclaimed as National Energy Month, Wisconsin Public Service reminds customers there are proper steps to ensure a safe and economical way to stay warm inside as the temperature drops outside. An inspection and tune up of your heating system by a qualified technician is recommended and can save customer's money by ensuring the furnace is operating safely and efficiently. Growth continues at ARMS (Automated Records Management Systems, Inc.). The De Pere-based full service information management company has acquired Fox Cities Records Services (FCRS) of Appleton. "We're excited to be able to provide new and expanded information management services to Fox Cities Records Services clients," said Eric Haas, ARMS President/CEO. "This is our fifth acquisition in five years, demonstrating our commitment to being the leader in information management for our clients throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan."

The Wisconsin Public Service Foundation has awarded $50,000 to area first responders as part of the Foundation's 50th year anniversary.Up to a $2,000 grant for needed equipment and training was made available to first responder groups that applied for the Foundation's first annual "Safety-It's Worth the Energy" grant. Cellcom announced it will offer iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the biggest advancements in iPhone history, beginning on Friday, September 26 at its retail locations throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. iPhone 6 will be available starting at $199.95 for the 16GB model and iPhone 6 Plus will be available starting at $299.95 for the 16GB model with a two-year agreement. Cellcom will allow iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus customers to connect to its 4G LTE network which covers small cities and rural towns throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

Wisconsin Public Service Foundation is once again accepting scholarship applications from students who live within the company's service area and plan to attend technical or 4-year college programs. Scholarships are offered to students who are high school seniors or returning adults. Scholarships of up to $1,500 per year are awarded based upon outstanding academic achievement, leadership in school and community activities and financial need. View news release here.

US 41 Project 
Lane Closures 
October 6th-October 10th


Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Lineville Road 60 day closure

 

Lineville Road (County M) interchange, including the Lineville Road bridge, will be CLOSED for 60 days starting Monday, August 18th. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes as early as 12am Monday morning. The interchange will be shut down for a maximum of 60 days.  

 

The closure includes:

  • US 41/Lineville Road interchange ramps
  • Lineville Road between West Deerfield and Lakeview Drive (County Road J)
  • Lineville Road intersection with West Deerfield Avenue
  • Lineville Road intersection with East Deerfield Avenue (note: only East Deerfield Avenue will be able to cross Lineville Road. East Deerfield will remain open for access to local businesses).

Alternate routes:

  • Use Lakeview Drive or County B as an alternate route across US 41.
  • USe County B and Velp Avenue interchanges for access to and from US 41 (note: Velp Avenue could experience heavy delays if used as an alternate route).

 

60-Day Packerland/Cardinal Lane Closure


Packerland Drive, including the WIS 29 exit-ramps to Packerland Drive, will CLOSE on Tuesday, September 2nd for up to 60 days to reconstruct the Packerland Drive/Cardinal Lane interchange. Packerland Drive/Cardinal Lane will be CLOSED between Holly Way and Duck Creek Parkway (Formerly Dousman Street). This new intersection will feature roundabouts at both ramp terminals and a roundabout at County RK and Packerland.

Elmburst Avenue/Cardinal Lane intersection will also CLOSE on Tuesday, September 2nd for construction of a roundabout. WisDOT will maintain a one-lane connection between Cardinal Lane and Duck Creek Parkway during the construction of the roundabout. Access to residents and businesses will also be maintained from Duck Creek Parkway throughout the closure.
