This weekend is the Inaugural Live Healthy Brown County Health, Wellness, & Lifestyle Expo at the KI Center! Come and Learn from the Experts, ask them about the benefits. Health Seminars & Demos will be going on both days. There will be rooms dedicated to Fitness & Training, Information & Education, Yoga, Massage Therapy, Nutrition and Kids Health!   If you bring a non-perishable food item , you will receive $5 off your admission! Admission is Adults $7, Seniors $6 and children 14 and under are free! The times this weekend for the expo are Saturday, 10am-6pm and Sunday, 10am-3pm!

Renegade 5k Run/Walk


Join us in our inaugural Renegade 5K Run/Walk! Start your Saturday morning with a run from Fitness Renegades to Pioneer Park. The run will start at 9am with packet pick up on Friday from 8am to 8pm and again on Saturday morning from 7:30am until 8:30am. All participants will receive a FREE Nutrition 101 class and a week of UNLIMITED classes (for non-members) at Fitness Renegades as well as a goody bag with coupons and discounts for local businesses. We will be honoring our Chairman of the Board, Brad Toll, President & CEO of the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau and welcoming in our 2015 Chair of the Board, Chris Knight, President of SparkNET Interactive!! Stephanie Klett, Cabinet Secretary with the Department of Tourism will be our keynote speaker!

Sponsored by Associated Bank. Although most people realize their credit history is important, 70 percent do not know a credit score exists, what the numbers mean or how to fix it. Come learn how to read your credit score, tricks to fixing your credit and why it's so important for your future. No lunch served. Free.

Healthy Eating and Nutrition: YWCA Green Bay - De Pere, 230 S. Madison Street, Green Bay, 12-1pm. Marie Smith, RD, CDE (registered dietician), Bellin Health, will present a one-hour informational session on healthy eating including: what are healthy foods, portion sizes, label reading and eating healthy on a budget. No lunch served, feel free to bring your own lunch. Free to YWCA members, $5 donation for non members.

Fundraiser for St. Vincent Child Life Center:
Palette and Pub, 844 Willard Drive #4, Green Bay, 6pm. This is a charity painting event benefiting St. Vincent Hospital's Child Life Center. Participants will be led through a beautiful dragonfly painting. This is in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Electronics & Appliance Recycling Drive:  Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, 1661 East Shore Drive, Green Bay, 9am-1pm. The Friends of the Wildlife Sanctuary will be holding their fall computer, electronics & appliance recycling drive at the Wildlife Sanctuary, 1660 East Shore Drive, Green Bay. The event will be held Saturday September 27 9:00 - 1:00. Open to business and residential. A small fee will be charged for TVs & Monitors. Appliances containing freon & all other standard business and household electronics are recycled at no cost. Proceeds benefit the Wildlife Sanctuary.

NAMI Brown County Walking for Mental Health: Natinal Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) Brown County - Walking for Mental Health, Green Isle Park, 898 Green Avenue, Allouez, 9am-12pm. The NAMI walk is held each year to raise money to provide education, support, and advocacy for those with mental illness and their families. There is a silent auction and raffle too. All money raised stays in Brown County. Check in/registration is at 9 am and the walk starts at 10 am. 5K (3.3 Miles) You may register in advance: www.namiwalks.org/browncounty Bring your friends, family and neighbors!

One Fish, Two Fish Hike in Baird Creek: Christa McAuliffe Park, 3100 Sitka Street, Green Bay, 1-3pm. Join Charlie Frisk, Baird Creek Preservation Foundation Board President, on Saturday, September 27 at 1pm at Christa McAuliffe Park for the One Fish, Two Fish Hike. Charlie will lead us to some of the best places to find fish and other aquatic creatures, focusing on the biodiversity of Baird Creek. This hike is a "kid focused" event, so bring the whole family! Remember to dress for the weather.

US 41 Project 
Lane Closures 
September 22nd - 26th 


Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Lineville Road 60 day closure

 

Lineville Road (County M) interchange, including the Lineville Road bridge, will be CLOSED for 60 days starting Monday, August 18th. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes as early as 12am Monday morning. The interchange will be shut down for a maximum of 60 days.  

 

The closure includes:

  • US 41/Lineville Road interchange ramps
  • Lineville Road between West Deerfield and Lakeview Drive (County Road J)
  • Lineville Road intersection with West Deerfield Avenue
  • Lineville Road intersection with East Deerfield Avenue (note: only East Deerfield Avenue will be able to cross Lineville Road. East Deerfield will remain open for access to local businesses).

Alternate routes:

  • Use Lakeview Drive or County B as an alternate route across US 41.
  • USe County B and Velp Avenue interchanges for access to and from US 41 (note: Velp Avenue could experience heavy delays if used as an alternate route).

 

60-Day Packerland/Cardinal Lane Closure


Packerland Drive, including the WIS 29 exit-ramps to Packerland Drive, will CLOSE on Tuesday, September 2nd for up to 60 days to reconstruct the Packerland Drive/Cardinal Lane interchange. Packerland Drive/Cardinal Lane will be CLOSED between Holly Way and Duck Creek Parkway (Formerly Dousman Street). This new intersection will feature roundabouts at both ramp terminals and a roundabout at County RK and Packerland.

Elmburst Avenue/Cardinal Lane intersection will also CLOSE on Tuesday, September 2nd for construction of a roundabout. WisDOT will maintain a one-lane connection between Cardinal Lane and Duck Creek Parkway during the construction of the roundabout. Access to residents and businesses will also be maintained from Duck Creek Parkway throughout the closure. WIS 172

Drivers can anticipate various overnight single lane closures on westbound and eastbound WIS 172 between Ashland Avenue and US 41 throughout the week. The following ramp will be closed:
  • Southbound US 41 to eastbound WIS 172 ramp will be closed NIGHTLY on Thursday and Friday from 8pm to 6am.
    • Southbound US 41 traffic seeking eastbound WIS 172 will follow southbound US 41 to Oneida Street, take Oneida Street east to northbound and follow northbound US 41 to WIS 172.

Lombardi Avenue

 

The following ramps will be closed:

  • Southbound US 41 on and off-ramps at Lombardi Avenue will be clsoed NIGHTLY on Monday through Thursday from 7pm to 6am. In addition, southbound US 41 on-ramp from Lombardi Avenue will be closed on Friday from 7pm to 6am.

I-43

 

The following ramp will be closed:

  • Northbound I-43 to southbound US 41 ramp will be closed on Tuesday from 8pm to 5am.
    • I-43 traffic seeking southbound US 41 will be detoured off at Atkinson Drive, take Atkinson Drive south to Velp Avenue, and follow Velp Avenue west to southbound US 41.
