ATTENTION! ATTENTION!

There are lots of road construction updates in this e-newsletter. The two most important updates being the following:
  1. Lineville Road (County M) interchange, including the Lineville Road bridge, will be CLOSED for 60 days starting Monday, August 18th. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes as early as 12am Monday morning. The interchange will be shut down for a maximum of 60 days.  
  2. The Shawano Avenue interchange is also closed for construction until the first week  of September. Velp Avenue could experience heavier-than-usual delays if used as an alternate route. Motorists encouraged to use County B as an alternative until Shawano Avenue opens the first week of September. Mason Street to Packerland and WIS 29 to County FF are open and serve as  options to reach the Howard area or Lineville Road.

Yoga in the Park

This free, outdoor yoga class is perfect for all levels (no experience needed) and is free and open to the public!

Please bring your own water bottle and yoga mat. Children under 18 should be with an adult guardian.

In case of rain, the free class will be moved to: Flow Yoga Studio, 421 George St., De Pere. Due to space, indoor classes will be limited to the first 25 participants.

Community News
 
 The last installment of the Movies in the Park series has been cancelled due to conflicting events. "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" was the movie planned for Movies in the Park on August 22nd  at dusk. Due to a Green Bay Packer preseason game played on the same day and virtually at the same time of the movie to be played, unfortunately the event is to be cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
Definitely De Pere would like to thank all movie-goers who were able to enjoy Movies in the Park this summer and the De Pere Community Center for hosting this event on their lawn. View full news release here.


The De Pere Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and the De Pere Dog Park Committee hosted a Pooch Plunge for dogs on Sunday, August 17th at VFW Pool in De Pere. Dogs and their owners were invited to this fun event. For only $5 per dog, pooches could swim in the pool and participate in some fun events, such as jump contests, splash contests and even a swimsuit competition. View full news release here.

Artstreet: (Friday-Sunday), 4-11pm, Streets of Downtown Green Bay, Adams Street. Free Event Celebrate the arts in the streets of downtown Green Bay at Artstreet. The event showcases 200 visual artists from throughout the country exhibiting for sale original works. Performing arts will be highlighted on two stages featuring a blend of jazz, blues, classical, dance and theater. Performing arts, children's art activities, artist demonstrations, community cultural organization booths, street performers, and gourmet foods are also featured.

US 41 Project 
Lane Closures 
August 18th-22nd  


Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

21 Day closure and 60-day closures at Shawano interchange

The northbound US 41 exit ramp to eastbound Shawano Avenue will close for a maximum of 21 days starting Monday, July 28th. Shawano Avenue from Taylor Street to Packerland Drive and all other Shawano interchange ramps closed July 7 for 6o days.

WIS 29 detour is as follows:
  • Westbound WIS 29 will be detoured at Military Avenue, take Military south to Mason Street and Mason west to US 41 northbound and follow US 41 northbound to the new WIS 29 westbound flyover ramp.
  • Eastbound WIS 29 will be detoured south on US 41 to WIS 172, take WIS 172 eastbound to I-43 southbound to the WIS 29 exit.

Oneida Street

The following ramp will be closed:
  • Northbound US 41 on-ramp from Oneida Street will both be closed on Monday and Tuesday from 7pm to 6am.

I-43

 

The following ramp will be closed:

  • Northbound I-43 ramp to northbound US 41 will be closed on Thursday from 8pm to 5am
    • Northbound I-43 traffic will be detoured off at Atkinson Drive, take Atkinson Drive south to Velp Avenue and follow Velp Avenue west to northbound US 41.

Lineville Road 60 day closure

 

Lineville Road (County M) interchange, including the Lineville Road bridge, will be CLOSED for 60 days starting Monday, August 18th. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes as early as 12am Monday morning. The interchange will be shut down for a maximum of 60 days.  

 

The closure includes:

  • US 41/Lineville Road interchange ramps
  • Lineville Road between West Deerfield and Lakeview Drive (County Road J)
  • Lineville Road intersection with West Deerfield Avenue
  • Lineville Road intersection with East Deerfield Avenue (note: only East Deerfield Avenue will be able to cross Lineville Road. East Deerfield will remain open for access to local businesses).

Alternate routes:

  • Use Lakeview Drive or County B as an alternate route across US 41.
  • USe County B and Velp Avenue interchanges for access to and from US 41 (note: Velp Avenue could experience heavy delays if used as an alternate route).

The Shawano Avenue interchange is also closed for construction until the first week  of September. Velp Avenue could experience heavier-than-usual delays if used as an alternate route. Motorists encouraged to use County B as an alternative until Shawano Avenue opens the first week of September. Mason Street to Packerland and WIS 29 to County FF are open and serve as  options to reach the Howard area or Lineville Road.  

 

Local Roads

 

  • Eastbound and westbound Lombardi Avenue between Argonne and Shady Lane will have single lane closures on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Eastbound and westbound Oneida Street will have single lane closures between Ramada Way and Allied Access on Monday and Tuesday from 7pm to 6am.
  • Cormier Road between Pilgrim Way and North Road will have a FULL CLOSURE on Wednesday from 9pm to 7am.
  • Morris Avenue between Hilltop and Argonne Street will have FULL CLOSURE on Thursday from 9pm to 7am.
  • Ramada Way between Parkview Road and Oneida Street has a FULL CLOSURE. Access to local businesses on Ramada Way will be maintained.
