Join the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce along with it's Ambassadors at the Groundbreaking of Scott's Subs and Pizza on Monday, July 28th at Noon a the corner of Grant Street and Quarry Road in De Pere.

Economic Development Day

Session 1: PlaceMaking
This workshop will focus on how to design your community, so that it's attractive to entrepreneurs and small businesses. We will focus on how the built environment intertwined with quality of life attributes can make your community stand out to entrepreneurs.
Instructor: Naletta Burr, CEcD, Community Account Manager, Wisconsin Development Corporation.

 
Session 2: Creating an Entrepreneurial Strategy
This session will provide the basic framework for communities to use when setting up a strategy to attract and retain entrepreneurs. Topics will include: infrastructure development, economic gardening, public-private partnerships, developing entrepreneurship program pipelines, and zoning.
Instructor: Quasan Shaw, EDFP, Economic Development Coordinator, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

Session 3: Best Practices Panel
This interactive panel will address best practices that the public and private sectors are using to create entrepreneurial communities.

Knights on the Fox" Summer Concert Series

  •  

"Knights on the Fox," returns this year for its twelfth season.The five-week series will be held on the St. Norbert College campus behind the Ray Van Den Heuvel Family Campus Center. The concerts will take place on Tuesday evenings beginning July 8 and ending with the last show on August 5. All five concerts are free and open to the public.  The series features musical performers and a picnic atmosphere. Sandwiches, snacks, bottled water and soda will be available for purchase or you can carry in your own picnic. The picnics begin at 5 p.m., followed by the concerts from 6:30-8 p.m.

The docks at the Thompson marina will be open for those who wish to come by boat. Ample parking is also available in the lots off of Third Street, with handicapped parking in the lot near Old St. Joseph Church.

Our annual summer market opens on July 10th!  Come to Seroogy's parking lot to find great locally grown fresh produce, flowers and herbs.  Every Thursday morning from July 10th through October 16th!

Yoga in the Park

This free, outdoor yoga class is perfect for all levels (no experience needed) and is free and open to the public!

Please bring your own water bottle and yoga mat. Children under 18 should be with an adult guardian.

In case of rain, the free class will be moved to: Flow Yoga Studio, 421 George St., De Pere. Due to space, indoor classes will be limited to the first 25 participants.

West De Pere High School Footloose
Cut loose! West De Pere is bringing to stage the musical production Footloose. Set in the straight-laced town of Bomont, Reverend Shaw outlaws music and dancing. Tensions rise when the town finds Ren McCormack challenging those laws. West De Pere's portrayal of Footloose adds an exciting and uplifting twist that will captivate all ages. It's full of comedy, romance, and adventure to create an amazing production.  The original Broadway production of Footloose was nominated for four Tony awards and includes the songs Holding Out For a Hero, Heaven Help Me, Mama Says, and more! Join West De Pere High School July 31st, August 1st, and 2nd for a story of hope, passion, and desire to change! Keller, Planners, Architects and Builders, a design/build general contractor with offices in the Fox Cities, Milwaukee, Madison and Wausau will build a 3,984 square foot office for Unison Credit Union under the direction of Keller Project Manager, John Elrick, and Architect, Steve Klessig. CEO, Mark Hietpas, is building the office to better serve the members of Unison Credit Union. Located at 900 Main Avenue in De Pere, construction will begin in August and is expected to be completed in December, 2014. View full news release here.


Unity Medical Director Patricia Neuman, DO, HMDC, was recently granted the Hospice Medical Director Certified credential by the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board. Dr. Neuman was recognized for her commitment to improving the quality of life by displaying professional competency in the hospice industry. Hospice practice includes patient care, medication management, performance improvement, engagement in interdisciplinary team (IDT) activities, and much more. Professional certification affirms a knowledge and experience base for hospice practitioners to display commitment to their career, dedication to patient and family care, and the sustainability of the hospice organization and industry. 13th Annual Family Pet Fair & Expo:
10am-3pm, Brown County Fair Grounds, South Broadway, De Pere.
Join us for a day long, family fun event hosted by Mit Liebe German Shepherd Dog Rescue. FREE ADMISSION to a day long event filled with fun for all ages (and pets too!). Food, silent auction, craft sale, training demonstrations, adoption events, games for the kids, dog/cat/reptile rescues etc... Well behaved, leashed dogs welcome.

Family Kite Fest: 10am-2pm, Willow Creek Park, 1900 Guns Street, Bellevue. Families come out and fly a kite up to the highest heights with the Wisconsin Kiter's Club. See some of the largest kites you have ever seen in the air and get a chance to create and fly your own kite. The Bellevue Kite Fest Event, sponsored by Bellevue Family Dentistry, will be held on Saturday August 2, 2014 at Willow Creek Park. The event runs from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. US 41 Project 
Lane Closures 
July 28th - August 1st  


Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

21 Day closure and 60-day closures at Shawano interchange

The northbound US 41 exit ramp to eastbound Shawano Avenue will close for a maximum of 21 days starting Monday, July 28th. Shawano Avenue from Taylor Street to Packerland Drive and all other Shawano interchange ramps closed July 7 for 6o days.

WIS 29 detour is as follows:
  • Westbound WIS 29 will be detoured at Military Avenue, take Military south to Mason Street, and Mason west to US 41 northbound and follow US 41 northbound to the new WIS 29 westbound flyover ramp.
  • Eastbound WIS 29 will be detoured south on US 41 to WIS 172, take WIS 172 eastbound to I-43 southbound to the WIS 29 exit.

The following ramps will be closed:

  • Northbound US 41 on-ramp from northbound I-43 will be closed on Monday and Tuesday from 8pm to 5am.
    • Traffic will be detoured at Atkinson Drive, take Atkinson Drive south to Velp Avenue, follow Velp Avenue west to northbound US 41.
  • Northbound US 41 off-ramp to southbound I-43 will be closed on Wednesday from 8pm to 5am.
    • Traffic will be detoured off at Velp, take Velp east to Atkinson and Atkinson north to I-43 southbound.

Local Roads

 

Pilgrim Way is closed between Cormier and Ridge Road.
