This Friday is our annual Chamber Golf Outing presented by NEW Wall Street and WPS Health Insurance! This year we are returning to Mid Vallee Golf Course!! If you are interested in golfing this Friday - there are a few foursomes left. It is a non-competitive and fun golf outing - with fun activities at most every hole! We use a shotgun scramble format. It is $400 for a foursome or $100 per person which includes 18 holes with cart/lunch/dinner/refreshments. Our charity partner this year is St. Clare Catholic School. The outing is from 8am-5pm. Registration starts at 8am, with the scramble itself starting at 9:30am. Dinner is around 3pm. There are lots of great raffle prizes as well!! Knights on the Fox" Summer Concert Series

"Knights on the Fox," returns this year for its twelfth season.The five-week series will be held on the St. Norbert College campus behind the Ray Van Den Heuvel Family Campus Center. The concerts will take place on Tuesday evenings beginning July 8 and ending with the last show on August 5. All five concerts are free and open to the public.  The series features musical performers and a picnic atmosphere. Sandwiches, snacks, bottled water and soda will be available for purchase or you can carry in your own picnic. The picnics begin at 5 p.m., followed by the concerts from 6:30-8 p.m.

The docks at the Thompson marina will be open for those who wish to come by boat. Ample parking is also available in the lots off of Third Street, with handicapped parking in the lot near Old St. Joseph Church.

Yoga in the Park

This free, outdoor yoga class is perfect for all levels (no experience needed) and is free and open to the public!

Please bring your own water bottle and yoga mat. Children under 18 should be with an adult guardian.

In case of rain, the free class will be moved to: Flow Yoga Studio, 421 George St., De Pere. Due to space, indoor classes will be limited to the first 25 participants.

Our Annual De Pere Chamber Golf Outing is this week!! That means it is time to put together your four-some, get registered, and get ready for a fun time!! We are at Mid Valley Golf Course again this year. Early bird tickets are on sale until June 22nd so make sue you get them at the discounted price before they go up and make sure you get them before we are sold out!

Join us for a FREE outdoor showing of "The Princess Bride" at VFW Park this summer! Bring your blankets, beach chairs, and join us on the hill by the De Pere Community Center. Rain location will be inside the Community Center.

Children and families are welcome, but please no dogs, carry-ins, grills or alcohol. We encourage you to eat downtown prior to the movie! We want this to be a friendly atmosphere for all! Concessions will be available for purchase inside the Community Center.

Economic Development Day

Session 1: PlaceMaking
This workshop will focus on how to design your community, so that it's attractive to entrepreneurs and small businesses. We will focus on how the built environment intertwined with quality of life attributes can make your community stand out to entrepreneurs.
Instructor: Naletta Burr, CEcD, Community Account Manager, Wisconsin Development Corporation.

 
Session 2: Creating an Entrepreneurial Strategy
This session will provide the basic framework for communities to use when setting up a strategy to attract and retain entrepreneurs. Topics will include: infrastructure development, economic gardening, public-private partnerships, developing entrepreneurship program pipelines, and zoning.
Instructor: Quasan Shaw, EDFP, Economic Development Coordinator, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

Session 3: Best Practices Panel
This interactive panel will address best practices that the public and private sectors are using to create entrepreneurial communities.

KELLER, Planners, Architects, and Builders, a Design/Build General Contractor with offices in the Fox Cities, Madison, Milwaukee and Wausau, will design and build a 19,432 square foot office addition for VF OUTDOOR INC. (JANSPORT) under the direction of Keller Project Manager, Dave Stubbs and Architect, Steve Klessig. Located at N850 Highway CB in Greenville, construction has begun and is expected to be completed in fall, 2014. View full news release here.


Integrys Energy Group (NYSE: TEG), has decided to hold a public auction to sell about 200 acres of its Awassa Lodge property along Lake Content in Vilas County, WI. The land is divided into 23 primarily lakefront lots and range in size from around 1.5 acres to as large as 20+ acres. The auction will be conducted by Hall and Hall auction services on September 18, 2014, at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Germain Community Center, in St. Germain, WI. View full news release here.


Keller, Planners, Architects and Builders, a design/build general contractor with offices in the Fox Cities, Madison, Milwaukee and Wausau will design and build a 19,000 square foot manufacturing addition for Astro Industries under the direction of Keller Project Manager, Tyler Rovinski, and Architect, Rob Lindstrom. Owners, Eric and Zak Guns, are building the addition to accommodate their increasing customer demand. The addition will improve efficiencies within the business and allow Astro Industries to provide additional services to their customers. The expansion is expected to add 16 full-time positions within the company. Located at 810 Parkview Road in Ashwaubenon, construction has begun and is expected to be completed in early 2015. On Thursday, August 7, at 8 a.m. Central time, Integrys Energy Group, Inc. (NYSE: TEG) will host a conference call to review second quarter 2014 financial results, as well as future prospects. Keller, Planners, Architects and Builders, a design/build general contractor with offices in the Fox Cities, Madison, Milwaukee and Wausau will hold a job fair on Friday, July 25th and Friday, August 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at their office located at N216 State Road 55 in Kaukauna. Keller, Inc. is hiring steel erection, carpentry and concrete personnel to start immediately.

Attendees will have the opportunity to fill out an application and interview during the job fair. Keller is also looking to establish more building crews in Wausau, Milwaukee and Madison. US 41 Project 
Lane Closures 
July 21-25  


Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

60-Day Closure

Shawano Avenue from Taylor Street to Packerland Drive was CLOSED on Monday, July 7 for a 60-day closure. All US 41 ramps at Shawano Avenue were also closed on July 7 except for the northbound US 41 exit ramp to eastbound Shawano Avenue. That ramp will close Monday, July 28 for a maximum of 21 days within the 60-day Shawano closure.

WIS 29 detour is as follows:
  • Westbound WIS 29 will be detoured at Military Avenue, take Military south to Mason Street and Mason west to US 41 northbound and follow US 41 northbound to the new WIS 29 westbound flyover ramp.  
  • Eastbound WIS 29 will be detoured south on US 41 to WIS 172, take WIS 172 eastbound to I-43 southbound to the WIS 29 exit.  

Oneida Street

 

The following ramp will be closed:

  • Northbound US 41 off-ramp to Oneida Street will be closed on Monday from 7pm to 6am.  

WIS 172

 

The following ramp will be closed:

  • Northbound US 41 on-ramp from westbound WIS 172 will be closed on Monday from 7pm to 7am.  
    • Traffic will be detoured off at Pilgrim Way, take Pilgrim Way east to Ashland Avenue, follow Ashland Avenue north to Lombardi Avenue and take Lombardi Avenue west to US 41.  

I-43

 

The following ramp will be closed:

  • Northbound US 41 on-ramp from northbound I-43 will be closed on Thursday from 8pm to  5am.  
    • Traffic will be detoured at Atkinson Drive, take Atkinson Drive south to Velp Avenue follow Velp Avenue west to northbound US 41.  

Lineville Road

 

The following ramps will be closed:

  • Southbound US 41 on and off-ramps at Lineville Road will be closed on Monday from 7pm to 5am.  
  • Northbound US 41 on and off-ramps at Lineville Road will be closed on Thursday from 9pm to 5am.  

Local Roads

 

Pilgrim Way's 30-day closure between Cormier and Ridge Road was extended through the month of July.
