Over the next week we have two Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of two new members that are mentioned in this newsletter. All of these events are open to the public and we hope that you are able to come out and welcome these new businesses to the community. Our De Pere at Dusk is also a public event, it is free to attend and is a great networking tool but also just a great time!

Chamber Golf Outing

Our Annual De Pere Chamber Golf Outing is only 1 month away!! That means it is time to put together your four-some, get registered, and get ready for a fun time!! We are at Mid Valley Golf Course again this year. Early bird tickets are on sale until June 22nd so make sue you get them at the discounted price before they go up and make sure you get them before we are sold out!

14th Annual Bellin College Golf Classic: 
10:30am-8pm, Oneida Golf & Country Club, 207 Country Club Road, Green Bay. Bellin College is set to swing our clubs at Oneida Golf & Country Club for our 14th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 16, 2014. We hope you will consider participating as part of a team, becoming one of our sponsors, joining us for dinner, or by donating an item for our auctions. All paid attendees will have a chance to win a fabulous prize valued at more than $500! Savour Green Bay:
(Friday & Saturday), downtown Green bay, 301 N Washington Street. Ticket Pricing: Free Event Savour Green Bay brings together local food, lifestyle and music to the heart of downtown Green Bay. Join innovative chefs, notable wine experts, brewmasters, and local restaurateurs for a weekend of culinary events including cooking demonstrations, tastings, and seminars. Music performances, a culinary marketplace and interactive activities for the entire family are also featured.

Treatment Trail 2014:
8am-9:30pm, Voyageur Park, De Pere. Ticket Pricing: $25 per registrant, but price increases as the event date approaches. Children ages 10 and under are free, but are encouraged to bring a new or slightly used item for CHW resource center. Treatment Trail 2014 is a 9-day, 200-mile traveling fundraising event for the Go Bo Foundation and the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Trail begins on June 14 in Milwaukee and concludes on June 22 in Sister Bay. There are 9 separate 5k run/walk events along our "trail" including a stop in De Pere at Voyageur Park. Participants receive a performance T-shirt and other goodies. Children under age 10 are free. Registration is limited and there are price increases as event date approaches.

Saturday

Stop, Drop, and Run:
7:30am-11:59pm, Idlewild Park, 1500 Cotton Drive, Suamico. The Stop, Drop and Run 5K is a traditional 5K run through the surrounding Suamico Community. The Kids' Stop, Drop and Run is walk/run geared towards younger children (parents may accompany their children at no extra cost). Participants of both races will run behind a Suamico Firefighter Truck. The registration fee for the 5K is $25 and registration fee for the Kids run is $10. Suamico Firefigthers Picnic:
7:30am-11:30pm, Idlewild Park, 1500 Cotton Drive, Suamico. Backwoods Bargains presents the 2014 Suamico Firefighters Picnic and Stop, Drop and Run 5K. This community picnic and run is powered by the HuTerra Foundation and benefits the Suamico Firefighters Volunteer Association. The picnic is being held in Idlewild Park on June 21, 2014. This family friendly picnic commences with the Kids' Stop, Drop and Run starting at 8:30AM and the Stop, Drop and Run 5K starting at 9:30AM. The picnic will feature 3 live bands begining with the Liver Killers at 10:00AM, then the Big N Tasty Blues at 1:30PM, and culminating with the Cougars at 6:30PM. Not to mention the amazing fireworks display starting at 9:30PM. If you are looking for a family friendly day packed with entertainment and fun, the Suamico Firefighters Picnic is the place to be! There's even free picnic admission for the entire family! See you there!

Holistic Hounds:
8am-3:30pm, Fox Valley Humane Association, N115 Two Mile Road, Appleton. Join us on Saturday, June 21st for a holistic canine retreat for you and your canine companion! Learn about doggy yoga with Empower Yoga, natural remedies for your pet with Somethin' To Howl About, and Tellington Touch with Dr. Claudeen McAuliffe while bonding with your pup. Various session are available, view the schedule to learn more. All proceeds benefit the animals in need at FVHA. Limited to one dog per handler. US 41 Project Lane Closures June 16-20

Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Drivers can expect the following FULL CLOSURES on US 41 this week:

Oneida Street

The following ramp will be closed:
  • Northobund US 41 off-ramp to Oneida Street will be closed on Monday from 7pm to 6am.  

WIS 172

 

The following ramps will be closed:

  • Northbound US 41 off-ramp to WIS 172 will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday from 6pm tp 6am. Detour as follows:
    • Eastbound WIS 172 traffic will be detoured off at Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Vanderperren Way, follow Vanderperren Way west to eastbound WIS 172 on-ramp.  
    • Westbound WIS 172 traffic will be detoured off at Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Pilgrim Way, follow Pilgrim Way west to westbound WIS 172 on-ramp.  

WIS 29

 

Eastbound and westbound WIS 29 between County FF and Packerland Drive will have various daytime and overnight single lane closures throughout the week. In addition, the following ramps will be closed:

  • Southbound US 41 on and off-ramps at WIS 29 will be closed overnight on Monday and Tuesday from 9pm to 6am.  
  • Northbound US 41 on and off-ramps at WIS 29 will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday from 9pm to 6am. 

I-43

 

The following ramps will be closed NIGHTLY on Monday through Friday:

  • Northbound US 41 to southbound I-43 ramp will be closed from 8pm to 5am.  
    • Traffic seeking southbound I-43 will be detoured off at Velp Avenue, take Velp Avenue east to Atkinson Drive and follow Atkinson Drive north to I-43.  

Lineville Road

 

The following ramp will be closed:

  • Southbound US 41 off-ramp to Lineville Road will be closed overnight on Friday from 9pm to 5am.  

Local Roads

 

The 15-day closure of eastbound and westbound Larsen Road under US 41 that began on Monday, June 9th, will be opening up early next week. In addition, drivers can expect a 30-day closure of Pilgrim Way between Cormier Road and Ridge Road. Traffic should use Ridge Road to access the high school and middle school.
