Can you believe it?! It look's like Spring is finally arriiving this week!! I don't know about you but I am extremely excited that Winter has decided that it is done!

Last week in my introduction I announcd that this month's De Pere at Dawn, our first Pathways to Leadership series would start this Wednesday. Unfortunately, our guest speaker has had a medical emergency and is unable to attend. In result, we are moving this month's topics to July and canceling this Wednesday's all together. If you are already registered and paid for, we will just transfer it to June or July's Dawn. Please let us know which you would prefer. I also wanted to send out a Congratulations to all of you who did the Cellcom Marathon yesterday! What a huge accomplishment to do a full or half marathon! I am not a runner at all so you are all amazing in my book!

Kick off your summer by celebrating all the De Pere has to offer on May 24th-May 26th! Support local causes while enjoying exciting concerts, local food, fireworks, and of course, a parade! A Family Fishing Tournament will take place on Sunday. Trophies will be awarded in 12 different categories. Celebrate De Pere tickets are $5 at the gate before 7pm and $10 after. Community News 

Keller, Planners, Architects and Builders, a design/build general contractor with offices in the Fox Cities, Madison, Milwaukee and Wausau, will remodel Bellevue Family Dentistry under the direction of Keller Project Manager, Dave Stubbs and Architect, Steve Klessig. Bellevue Family Dentistry will be updating the interior of their facility and will also be adding one additional treatment room for a total of seven to better serve their patients.
Located at 1401 Kingston Terrace in Green Bay, construction will begin mid-May and is expected to be completed in July, 2014. Learn more here.


In true Olympic tradition, gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded at UW-Green Bay today as teams from 25 area high schools competed in the 18th annual Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) Solar Olympics. The Solar Olympics sponsored by WPS Community Foundation and hosted at UW-Green Bay, challenged student competitors from area high schools to demonstrate their knowledge and skills with projects involving solar power by designing, constructing and demonstrating a solar cooker and a solar water heater, as well as racing a solar-powered model car. In addition, the students compete in an essay contest, a "solar jeopardy" quiz game and events for solar building design, solar T-shirt design, solar sculpture, solar photography, solar PV innovation, community outreach presentation and an advertising campaign. Seroogy's Chocolates will again distribute 25,000 homemade Chocolate Meltaways along the streets of De Pere during the city's annual Kiwanis Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 26. The Seroogy family and employees will march in the parade and give away individually wrapped Chocolate Meltaways from the beginning to the end of the parade route. Vi Smithwick, a member of the Brown County Gold Star Mothers, will be riding in Seroogy's 1967 blue Cadillac convertible. View full news release here.

Owner, Paul Gill, is adding a walk-in cooler and finishing off existing storage space for an additional retail area to better serve their customers.  The Board of Directors of Integrys Energy Group, Inc. (NYSE: TEG) has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.68 per share on common stock, payable on June 20, 2014, to shareholders of record May 30, 2014. US 41 Project Lane Closures May 19-23

Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Oneida Street

The following ramps will be closed:
  • Southbound US 41 on-ramp from Oneida Street will be closed overnight on Monday from 7pm to 6am.  
  • Northbound US 41 off-ramp to Oneida Street will be closed Tuesday from 7pm to 6am.  

WIS 172

 

Drivers can expect overnight single lane closures on westbound WIS 172 between Ashland Avenue and Babcock Road throughout the week. The following ramps will also be closed this week:

  • Northbound US 41 off-ramp to WIS 172 will be closed NIGHTLY on Monday through Thursday from 6pm to 6am. Detour as follows:
    • Eastbound WIS 172 traffic will be detoured off at Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Vanderperren Way, follow Vanderperren Way west to eastbound WIS 172 on-ramp
    • Westbound WIS 172 traffic will be detoured off at Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Pilgrim Way, follow Pilgrim Way west to westbound WIS 172 on-ramp. 

WIS 29

 

Drivers can anticipate a FULL CLOSURE of WIS 29 between the US 41 ramp on Monday and Wednesday from 9pm to 5am. Traffic will be detoured as follows:

  • Eastbound WIS 29 traffic will be detoured south to Mason Street, take Mason Street east to northbound US 41 to eastbound WIS 29.  
  • Westbound WIS 29 traffic will be detoured north to Velp Avenue, take Velp Avenue west to southbound US 41 to westbound WIS 29.  

On Tuesday, the northbound US 41 on-ramp from WIS 29 will be closed from 9pm to 1am.   

 

Velp Avenue

 

The following ramps will be closed:

  • Northbound US 41 on-ramp from Velp Avenue will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 3-5am.  
  • Northbound US 41 off-ramp to Velp Avenue will be closed on Tuesday from 6pm to 6am.  
I-43 Interchange

The following ramps will be closed:
  • Monday
    • Northbound US 41 to southbound I-43 ramp will be closed from 8pm to 5am.  
      • Traffic seeking southbound I-43 should exit at Velp Avenue, take Velp Avenue east to Atkinson Drive and follow Atkinson Drive north to I-43.  
  • Tuesday
    • Northbound US 41 to southbound I-43 ramp will be closed from 3-5am.  
      • Traffic seeking southbound I-43 should exit at Velp Avenue, take Velp Avenue wast to Atkinson Drive and follow Atkinson Drive north to I-43.  
    • Northbound I-43 to southbound US 41 ramp will be closed from 8-10pm.  
      • Traffic seeking southbound US 41 will be detoured off at Atkinson Drive, take Atkinson Drive south to Velp Avenue and follow Velp Avenue west to southbound US 41.  
  • Wednesday
    • Northbound US 41 to southbound I-43 ramp will be closed from 8pm to 5am.  
      • Traffic seeking southbound I-43 should exit at Velp Avenue, take Velp Avenue east to Atkinson Drive and follow Atkinson Drive north to I-43.  
  • Thursday
    • Northbound I-43 to northbound US 41 will be closed from 8-11pm.  
    • Northbound US 41 to southbound I-43 ramp will be closed from 8pm to 5am.  
      • Traffic seeking southbound I-43 should exit at Velp Avenue, take Velp Avenue east to Atkinson Drive and follow Atkinson Drive north to I-43.
