I hope you all enjoyed your Easter will your family and friends!! Thank you to Cheryl for taking over the newsletter last week while I was out for surgery and thank you to all of you for your emails and kind words wishing me well! It was greatly appreciated!

Well, this week looks like a very rainy one!! Which means that the April showers that bring those beautiful May flowers are here!! YAY!! **do a little happy dance** I am sure all of you are too because winter has long over stayed its welcome!! Do you know what else May is going to bring?! Spirits of Spring!! Spirits of Spring, which for the past eight years you knew as Taste of Wine and Beer, is Thursday, May 1st at the Green Bay Country Club from 4:30-9 p.m. Make sure you buy your tickets by Friday as the tickets are at discounted rate!! After this the price will be the same as it will be at the door of the event. To buy tickets go to www.deperechamber.org and click on Spirits of Spring on the main page - that will lead you to the online registration. Got a fussy or colic baby? We are looking for infants under 1 year of age to teach parents the wonders that massage therapy can offer. Run Away to the Bay 2014


 
Run Away to the Bay is a 12-legged relay race founded by Run Away Shoes. This team oriented race begins in Oshkosh and ends in Green Bay, totaling in at 55.3 miles. Teams can choose how to divide the race among their team, switching out at runners at the different legs, which are 3-7 mile distances. The race ends with a Post-race party at Hagemeister Park.

Where: The relay race starts at Menomonee Park in Oshkosh, and finishes up with a party on The City Deck at Hagemeister Park in Downtown Green Bay.

Solidify your value proposition and align products/services with meeting customer's needs, wants or jobs to be done. 2. Computer, Electronics & Appliance Recycling Event: 5-7pm (Friday) and 9am-1pm (Saturday) 9am-1pm, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. The Friends Of The Wildlife Sanctuary will be holding their spring computer, electronics & appliance recycling drive at the Wildlife Sanctuary, 1660 East Shore Drive, Green Bay. The event will be held Friday April 25 5:00 - 7:00PM and Saturday April 26 9:00 - 1:00. Open to business and residential. A small fee will be charged for TVs, & Monitors. It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. Annual Baird Creek Cleanup: 8:30am-12pm, Christa McAuliffe Park, 3100 Sitka Street, Green Bay. Join us, as we honor Earth Day, and volunteer in the annual Baird Creek Cleanup on Saturday, April 26 at Christa McAuliffe Park from 8:30 a.m. to noon. (Please note our location has changed this year). Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the cleanup will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers can assist with cleanup efforts or the planting of native species in the Greenway. Anyone can participate; children just need a parent or guardian. US 41 Project Lane Closures April 21-25

Drivers should anticipate various overnight single lane closures on southbound and northbound US 41 along the entire Brown County corridor from south of Glory Road to Lineville Road. Lane closures can vary along the corridor, so drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to road signs, slow down and use caution when entering any work zone. The US 41 Project plans to have at least one lane of traffic open at all times on both northbound and southbound US 41 during construction. This does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Parkview Road

Parkview Road between Market Street and Ramada Way will be closed on Wednesday from 9am to 1pm for a bridge deck pour.

US 41 Mainline Closures

Drivers can anticipate overnight closures on northbound and southbound US 41. On Tuesday
, northbound US 41 between WIS 172 and Lombardi will be closed from 9pm to 5am. Traffic will be detoured as follows:
  • Northbound US 41 traffic will be detoured off at WIS 172, take WIS 172 east to Vanderperren Way follow Vanderperren Way east to Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Lombardi Avenue and follow Lombardi Avenue west to northbound US 41.  

On Wednesday southbound US 41 between Lombardi Avenue and WIS 172 will be closed overnight from 9pn to 5am. Traffic will be detoured as follows:
  • Southbound US 41 traffic will be detoured off at WIS 172, take WIS 172 east to Vanderperren Way, follow Vanderperren Way east to Ashland Avenue and take Ashland Avenue south to US 41.  

WIS 172

 

The following ramps will be closed this week:

  • Westbound WIS 172 off-ramp to northbound US 41 will be closed on Monday and Tuesday from 7pm to 7am. Traffic will be detoured as follows:
    • Traffic seeking northbound US 41 will exit at Pilgrim Way, take Pilgrim Way to Ashland Avenue, follow Ashland Avenue north to Lombardi Avenue and take Lombardi Avenue west to northbound US 41.  
  • Northbound US 41 off-ramp to WIS 172 will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6pm to 6am. Detour as follows:
    • Eastbound WIS 172 traffic will be detoured off at Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Vanderperren Way, follow Vanderperren Way west to eastbound WIS 172 on-ramp.  
    • Westbound WIS 172 traffic will be detoured off at Ashland Avenue, take Ashland Avenue north to Pilgrim Way, follow Pilgrim Way west to westbound WIS 172 on-ramp.  

Lombardi Avenue

 

Starting on Tuesday, drivers can expect single lane closures on Lombardi Avenue under US 41 for two weeks.  

 

Velp Avenue Interchange 9-day ramp closure

 

The northbound US 41 on-ramp from Velp Avenue was closed for 9 days beginning at 5am on Thursday, April 17 and will last until 5am Saturday, April 26. This 9-day closure is needed to erect tub girders over the Velp Avenue interchange.  

  • Traffic seeking northbound US 41 will be detoured south on US 41 to WIS 29, take WIS 29 east to northbound US 41. Westbound Velp Avenue will also be prompted to take Atkinson Drive north to northbound I-43 to northbound US 41.  

In addition, the following ramp will be closed:

  • Northbound off-ramp to Velp Avenue will be closed on Monday from 9pn to 6am and on Tuesday from 6pm to 6am.  

I-43

 

Monday

  • Northbound US 41 to southbound I-43 ramp will be closed from 8-9pm.  
  • Southbound US 41 to southbound I-43 ramp will be closed from 8-9pm.  
  • Northbound I-43 to southbound US 41 ramp will be closed from 8pm to 5am.  
    • Traffic seeking southbound US 41 will be detoured off at Atkinson, take Atkinson south to Velp Avenue, and follow Velp Avenue west to southbound US 41.  

Tuesday

  • Northbound I-43 to southbound US 41 ramp will be closed form 8pm to 5am.  
    • Traffic seeking southbound US 41 will be detoured off at Atkinson, take Atkisnon south to Velp Avenue, and follow Velp Avenue west to southbound US 41.
