Greetings!
Last week in my introduction, I discussed some tips of how to have your business and your employees maintain momentum through the rest of the year now that the year is up and rolling. This week I would like to discuss how to maintain your personal momentum. Everyone operates differently, but here are some ways that may help increase your momentum (I am continually working on these myself!): - Use just one calendar where you keep all your appointments, goals, and things you need to get done. If you keep several it is more likely that things will fall through the cracks.
- Look for potential obstacles that you may run into and be prepared on how you will deal with them. If you are prepared to deal with those potential obstacles than you will overcome them faster and more efficiently.
- Always build on your strengths and natural talents. Not only will you feel more successful because you are building on what you are already good at, but you will be more successful for doing so.
- If you have to do something that you hate, either do it first or delegate it to someone else.
- Organize your information. The more organized you are, the easier your life will be. Becoming organized may take you some time if everything is a mess, but once you get organized, it will save you time in the long run and leave you feeling less stressed and more focused.
- Review your progress at the end of the week and then plan your next week based on that.
- Leave some time between meetings or tasks so that you aren't constantly feeling like you are running late or rushed.
- If you are one of those who wears different hats in your daily lives, then allocate specific time for each of those hats. This way you have control of this balancing act.
- Know when you need to walk away from a task for the day or even just a few hours. If you feel yourself getting frustrated or just losing interest, come back to it. I guarantee when you sit down to work on it again that it will be easier for you to finish that task, and you will do it better.
I hope you find these tips helpful and that they help you maintain momentum!
Have a wonderful week!
