December 9th, 2013                                                                                Issue # 9- 13
Greetings!

As you can see on the left hand side the images are of the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas." Every week I look for something to share with all of you and I was curious to where in the world the idea of this song came from and I learned something!! Did you know that the song dates from a time of religious persecution. The song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas," was written as a kind of secret catechism that they could sing in public without fear of arrest - a learning or memory aid to Christians in fact.

Here are what each of them stand for:

1. The partridge in a pear tree is Jesus.
2. The two turtledoves are the Old and New Testaments.
3. Three French hens stand for faith, hope and love.
4. The four calling birds are the four Gospels.
5. The five gold rings recall the Hebrew Torah (Law), or the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament.
6. The six geese a-laying stand for the six days of creation.
7. The seven swans a-swimming represent the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.
8. The eight maids a-milking are the eight Beatitudes.
9. Nine ladies dancing are the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit.
10. The ten lords a-leaping are the Ten Commandments.
11. Eleven pipers piping represent the eleven faithful Apostles.
12. Twelve drummers drumming symbolize the twelve points of doctrine in the Apostles Creed.

I hope you found this as interesting as I did!

Have a wonderful week!!

Alicia

Coldwell Banker is an American-based large real estate franchise founded in 1906 in San Francisco. Coldwell Banker has around 3100 offices throughout the United States and the world. The company is owned by Realogy, which also owns Century 21 Real Estate, Corcoran Real Estate, Sotheby's International Realty, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate and ERA Real Estate.

The company was launched in 1906. After the devastating 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fires, real estate agent Colbert Coldwell formed a new real estate company. Coldwell disapproved of the then-common practice of real estate agents acquiring properties for themselves, often from uninformed sellers at ridiculously low prices, and then reselling them for huge profits. He and two partners formed the company of Tucker, Lynch and Coldwell on August 27, 1906. In the early years of growth, Coldwell Banker offices were devoted primarily to commercial real estate brokerage firms. In 1925 the first residential real estate office opened in San Francisco, and a full fledged residential real estate department was formed by 1937.
By 1990, Coldwell Banker had locations in all fifty states, and had begun international expansion with offices in Canada and Puerto Rico. The company's focus on residential real estate was strengthened with the sale of Coldwell Banker Commercial Group (now known as CBRE Group). In 2006, Coldwell Banker would now be part of a stand-alone real estate company named Realogy in late 2006. Realogy's brands - Coldwell Banker, Coldwell Banker Commercial, Century 21, ERA and Sothebys International Realty (Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate was added in 2007) - combine to participate in one of every four residential real estate transactions in the United States.

Coldwell Banker has 278 agents within 25 miles of the 54115 zip code. So it is safe to say that if you want to talk to a Coldwell Banker agent they aren't hard to find! To talk to a Coldwell Banker agent or to learn more about them visit www.coldwellbanker.com.
