I love a new year! It is not only a chance to reflect on the past but a great time to look at fresh ideas. And two weeks in, we are off to a good start. Bethesda Green continues to advance its mission by offering practical solutions to common challenges. We continue with programs like the Fields of Green Internship Fair, Solar and Green Home Expo, On the Farm; Around the Table lecture series and farm tour and Green Awards celebration and gala. We will continue to support entrepreneurs through our green business incubator and a finance series to get sustainability-focused companies in the DC region financing and access to capital. We are adding new programs including greening business, the Reel Water Film Festival, workshops on greening commercial buildings and new outreach to neighborhoods, schools and restaurants. We are working with our landlord and partner, Capital One to LEED certify our building and create a showcase of innovation. And our work doesn't stop in Bethesda. We will begin leading a coalition of other green teams in Silver Spring, Wheaton, Poolesville, Gaithersburg and Annapolis to help their communities and reach. Bethesda Green will continue to work for this community to improve our quality of life and set an example for others to follow. Please be part of our community and join us for the ride in 2013. |
