The average rate for a 30-year loan now stands at 4.1%, according to Freddie Mac. That matched its lowest level since June 2013, when it stood at 3.93%. The average 15-year fixed was 3.23%.
Buyers looking at lower-priced homes are not only facing major inventory hurdles, they're also finding that they have to bring more money to the closing table.

Every August,the RealSource Community Service Committee gathers together to fill new backpacks with school supplies for local children in need in order to help them get back to school with the necessary tools for success. This year, RealSource donated over 200 backpacks to organizations helping local children in need including Social Services of Ridgewood, Center for Food Action in Mahwah, and a Community Association with a Ministry to People in Paterson. All backpacks were purchased by RealSource and supplies were donated by RealSource REALTORŪ members.

*Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal and the National Association of REALTORSŪ or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. Seventy percent of each contribution is used by your state PAC to support state and local political candidates. Until your state PAC reaches its PRAC goal, thirty percent is sent to the National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a; after the state PAC reaches its RPAC goal, it may elect to retain your entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates.
