Reflecting the 11.5 percent growth in home prices last year, income and sales volume jumped for the third year in a row, according to the 2014 National Association of Realtors® Member Profile. The survey also found an increase in new and younger members to NAR in 2013.  Read More...

  

The Main Culprit Behind Housing's Slowdown?

Rising mortgage rates are the main culprit for the weakening in home resales this year, and they could further dampen existing home sales, according to a new paper published by John Krainer, an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Krainer also cited other factors to the slowing of sales, such as the fragile economic recovery and the retreating of investors who have slowed their market share as home prices rise. April Existing-Home Sales Show Modest Improvement Behind Gaining Inventory

Existing-home sales increased for the first time this year in April, while inventory meaningfully increased and home price growth moderated, according to the National Association of Realtors®. Glen Rock council sets vote on turf, borough budget

In a whirl of procedural machinations, the Glen Rock Borough Council introduced a 2014 budget amendment resolution to facilitate the bonding of a synthetic turf project at Lower Faber field, and proposed a related $3 million bond ordinance for the plan.
