About the Class: Understanding dual agency is essential to the effective and safe practice of real estate. This course is designed to give the licensee an in depth review of the laws of agency as they apply to the practice of dual agency in New Jersey. The basic concepts of agency disclosure, how agency relationships are created, and the fiduciary duties we owe clients differences between the duties we owe clients and customer are briefly reviewed. Through scenarios and studies of court cases the duties we owe clients in dual agency are explored. Key issues in dual agency (confidentiality, informed consent to dual agency, fidelity to the client) will be illustrated.

Residential Rentals: Dos and Dont's

About the Class: Residential rentals can be a large proportion of an agent's business. This course is designed to assist agents identify their roles and responsibilities when representing landlords and tenants. Course content will include fair housing, qualifying tenants, inspection of premises, security deposits, initial payments, and preparing the NJAR lease. A general discussion of the responsibilities of the landlord and tenant will also be presented so that agents can address common landlord and tenant concerns.
